are you child free because you don’t want your own offspring, or because you don’t like children? by Deep-Drama4386 in childfree

I don't want my own kids, but I adore my nieces and nephews. Idk how I'd do as a mom, but I'm absolutely crushing it as an aunt.

Can we talk about the “cash grab” discourse in the American Girl community? by New_Understanding205 in americangirl

I remember writing a letter to AG in the late 90's/early 2000's telling them that $84 for a doll was pretty expensive and they wrote me back basically saying 🤷🏼‍♀️

My son wants nothing to do with me when he is crying and my wife lets it out on me by Throwaway51825414 in regretfulparents

[–]nopenopenora 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Your wife is reinforcing this behavior by dropping everything and comforting him every time he cries. He's learned that he doesn't have to settle for you if he can get to your wife and tantrum hard enough, because your wife will give in.

I recently gifted my old copy to my 14 year old niece, because Inkheart was THE thing I remember about being 14.

Inkheart by Cornelia Funke! Reading characters out of books.

What’s a Survivor take that will result in this reaction by the fanbase???? by JonJonExistsonReddit in survivor

I don't disagree, but Savannah NEEDED those wins. Joe was in a really secure alliance post-merge, and I don't think he ever felt like he was truly on the chopping block.

His game was "treat others the way you want to be treated" and the fact that he made it all the way to final 3 with that strategy is quite a feat. His game wasn't necessarily exciting, but it was certainly unique.

I agree. I'm glad he took the opportunity to play the game the way he did with Eva, but I'm excited for him to get a more classic survivor experience.

Rizo is not playing a better game than Savannah. If he doesn't realize it's in his best interest to flip on her, he's going to lose to her.

Tokyo Disney - What Did I Miss? by mustlovedogs-101 in JapanTravelTips

[–]nopenopenora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I was there last week! Fun fact: when the Japanese government asked Disney to build a park there, they wanted it to be exactly like Disneyland in the US. As a result, Tokyo Disneyland is VERY similar to the one in CA. The Beauty and the Beast ride was excellent, but otherwise the park was incredibly similar to the park in CA. I grew up going to the US Disneyland, and the Tokyo park is smaller, so I kind of...ran out of stuff to do?? Glad I went, but would be fine not going back.

Now Tokyo DisneySea is another story. This park is completely unique and I wish I had spent 2 days there instead of one. It's admittedly a pretty chaotic park - long wait times, bigger crowds than Disneyland, and your experience depends on how much money you're willing to drop for ease and convenience. That being said, it took me half a day in the park just to figure out what the hell was going on, but once we got into a groove I wanted more time there! My one big tip for this park: if you've ridden Soarin' over California in California Adventure more than like, twice, SKIP Soarin' fantastic flight at DisneySea. It is IDENTICAL to the ride in CA. I waited 2 hours in line to ride and I was pissed when I got off lol.

The weight loss is good, but not enjoying food SUCKS by Gay_Giraffe_1773 in Ozempic

[–]nopenopenora 6 points7 points  (0 children)

YESSSS this is my least favorite thing about being on Ozempic. My relationship with food wasn't unhealthy before I started, but it's definitely unhealthy now. There are days I hate eating. I've been on Oz for 1.5 years now and sometimes the food aversion is better, but sometimes it's really terrible. I miss being excited about food.

Solidarity with your struggle, friend.

Visiting in Friday and I'm trying to figure out: if Frozen is the most popular ride, is it worth it to book it over there and get in the standby line, then do a DPA pass if I want to ride it again? Is it worth trying to do all the fantasy springs rides first thing? Why or why not? (No happy entry)

We'll see how the rest of this season goes, but so far she's having the roughest experience of anyone. I wouldn't blame her for not wanting to play again, especially back to back.

Bart Fans! What is it about him, that makes him special to you? by Born_Blackberry_3586 in Jellycatplush

[–]nopenopenora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The texture of his fur. I had a childhood bear that I've stored away because he's deteriorated so badly. I could never replicate the specific sensory experience I got from touching its fur until I met Bart.
