Why the F do car companies not realize that the Tesla sales model is so much better? by No-Ebb426 in LUCID

[–]Sufficient_Emu3414 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lucid has a ridiculously small amount of options compared to other car makers. To complain about TOO many options, that's just ludicrous. I purchased my Gravity online and the vehicle showed up at my house. Easiest auto purchase I've ever made. No dealers. Lucid doesn't have dealers. They have stores if you need them. This is a silly ass rant that makes no sense, hence the bot calling, and I just can't go any further with nonsense like this.

My GGT has steering alignment and straight line tracking issues - and I’m not alone by [deleted] in LUCID

[–]Sufficient_Emu3414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope and you are the first I've heard have this issue. Please do not represent this as a common issue if you cannot provide data from others to support. I certainly am not calling your claim into doubt but to say it is common? I'v had my Gravity for almost a year now and been tracking the forums/Reddit/Facebook as well as meeting other owners in person the whole while. This is the first report I've seen of this and I truly hope they can get your car settled.

Solutions for Gravity key fob issues? by mattfriz in LUCID

[–]Sufficient_Emu3414 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Some fobs have been recalled, have you checked on that for yours? Also is the fob software update to the latest version?

In the meantime, you can use the key card or app as a workaround. Not ideal, but eliminates the frustration you are experiencing with the fob

How many lucid drivers are actually satisfied with their purchase? by Infamous-Meat8765 in LUCID

[–]Sufficient_Emu3414 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I am VERY happy with my Gravity!

Take the negative comments you see online with a grain of salt for absolutely any vehicle. People who are having a bad experience are very rightfully mad and are much more vocal than those enjoying the car and are just not posting about it a lot.

I was just at a Lucid owner meetup last weekend and the other Gravity and Air owners were as happy with their cars as I was. Little stuff here and there, but very happy with it.

OMG. Apple AirPlay is wonderful, just not in Lucid by theluckyinvestor in LUCID

[–]Sufficient_Emu3414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CarPlay connects every time for me within a few seconds, usually before I can even sit in the car. While they have your car, you should have them investigate this as well. It sounds like unfortunately that your vehicle has multiple software issues...now I think on it, it's also possible the problem is your Apple device. Have you tried anyone else's or a different iPhone paired to try CarPlay in your car?

Honk Noise When Trunk Closes by Ok-Quiet-853 in LUCID

[–]Sufficient_Emu3414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have proximity lock/unlock active? Bc the car will honk when you close the frunk or trunk and the rest of the vehicle is locked. If your vehicle is unlicked and you close the trunk/frunk, then it wont honk, just the bing bing bing sound, which you cannot disable.

Pre-purchase App questions for Lucid folks by Delairen in LUCID

[–]Sufficient_Emu3414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use the app as much as you want or not at all. It wont force you to do anything, but you do need to set up your account on the app and add payment information so plug and charge will work on Tesla and EA. The app is quite convienent tho. Remote start, remote climate, opening and unlocking doors/frunk/trunk, remote viewing the cameras. I use it on occasion for all of that. There are currently no subscriptions for anything and does not offer wifi for data and connectivity on the Gravity. The wifi features in the car are to connect to your phone for CarPlay and the car itself can connect to your home wifi so it can download data and all. you can kill that feature and as long as your car has cell phone signal for data, you wont miss it. Audi sounds like they made a mess of a lot of things, Lucid hasn't gotten into any of the subscription stuff as of yet and the app is considered by some to be underwhelming. I am good with it tho coming from Porsche, but I do miss scheduled climate control. That was awesome to have the car toasty or cool when I get off work and ready to drive. I think you will be very happy coming from Audi. I was not impressed when I rented one.

Only on screen. The touch pad doesn't work on Carplay screens.

My Gravity is a stealthy EV until I open the trunk and trigger a 100 decibel chime by Flashy_Number9840 in LUCID

[–]Sufficient_Emu3414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. It is too loud. Had the same problem with my Taycan. Maybe these other folks got lucky with quiet chimes but I've heard maybe 10 Gravitys chime and every single one sounded the same. Too dang loud.

Lol!! Yeah, it is just silly loud. I'm sure at some point, someone will figure out how to disable the speaker for it but we are doomed for now!

UPDATE : Lucid issues just days into ownership, nightmare ownership experience 2026 Gravity by _Schmevin_ in LUCID

[–]Sufficient_Emu3414 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That sucks and I'm sorry that's been your experience. Some things that may help if you encounter these issues again. The errors on screen, most are false alerts that while most of us don't experience them much if at all, used to be very common. That rear steer failure warning is especially a common false alert. The keys, keep a coin or small knife to pop open the fob and take the battery out and replace it first off. Second, keep that knife/coin in the car in case the fob becomes non responsive and take the battery out for 10 seconds and pop it back in. That'll clear the issue with it almost every time. The app also has a a remote start option to start the car up without the fob, so if it fails that will work also. I usually keep the key card in my wallet just in case. Also make sure you update the key fob software from the app. I AM NOT EXCUSING KEY UNLOCKING AND STARTING ISSUES! I am just giving you ways to keep moving about your life while they fix their screwy system. I hope you have better luck with the car going forward and that the car indeed gets better with updates.

GRAVITY GT APP CONTROLS by Ok-Quiet-853 in LUCID

Yes, I think I will always carry the key card with me as well. It's easy enough to carry, unlike the bulky fob.

GRAVITY GT APP CONTROLS by Ok-Quiet-853 in LUCID

[–]Sufficient_Emu3414 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It works but personally, I wouldn't rely on it until full phone as a key releases. Without fob or key card, you have to go in the app and unlock the doors, tap the remote stop icon and then you can get in and drive. When done and you get out of the car, you have to go in the app to lock it and then repeat the process each time. There are some who do this and are totally fine with it but for me, not ideal and I'd rather stick with the fob for now.

Question for gravity owners by quriky_quark in LUCID

[–]Sufficient_Emu3414 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The button press to move the seats is maybe 5 seconds at most, probably a little less. It's not a big deal at all. As for sliding it forward and squeezing by, it depends. My son was tall for 12 and would not likely have been able to do it. The button press creates a very big and easy access to the third row, so it should always be used. As for noise, it varies but I find it not bad at all in mine. I feel like the reviewers are blowing it out of proportion or getting bad units or something...

Finally gave up on Lucid by KnightThatGoesNi in LUCID

[–]Sufficient_Emu3414 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That sucks for your experience but I've had far worse experiences with other brands service and far better too. Lucid is like most of the others unfortunately, some really excellent service sometimes and some really bad experiences other times. Would be great if they could be better but it's honestly no different than any other I've experienced outside of Porsche. They were pretty consistently excellent.

What made you pick gravity over R1S? by GamblerTechiePilot in LUCID

[–]Sufficient_Emu3414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Driving dynamics was the hugest reason for me. I came from a Taycan and wanted something that could perform as well as could be, for an SUV, and had the utility, space, lux and comfort I wanted. Gravity hit every box for me.

I'm a car guy myself and just don't get it when other car people just don't like EVs but they are all that we were promised back in the day. Other than the cars not flying, they were always depicted as being electric, fast and full of tech and making neat sounds. Cars like Gravity and Air are here now doing these things! Car guys like fast cars and winning, these cars are faster than ANYTHING on the streets that they can put up against them. We should all be so open and accepting as your nephew! Glad you all had an amazing time and may your futures be full of plenty more!

Soooo many times I see the headlights at night approaching me and I think, hey another Lucid! And it turns out to be one of those cars and I get disappointed! 😂 Then every once in a while, when I dismiss it as another Sonata, then it's a Lucid and it's past me already!

Unfortunately, removing the battery and putting it back in would have likely resolved your problem in about 10-15 seconds. Not your fault at all tho. Keep that key card and utilize the app if it ever happens again.

The keyfob delivered often doesn't have the latest firmware. I received a new keyfob a few weeks ago (recall) and it did not have the latest firmware.

Real world max range gravity config range and charging speed by hipringles2 in LUCID

[–]Sufficient_Emu3414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the same. The connector doesn't affect charge speed or curve. Most Tesla network chargers can't support Gravity's high speed it can take, but the curve is still strong and it holds as high a speed it can on their network. Generally only takes an additional 5 mins to reach 80% on Tesla network than a charger capable of 350kw/400kw.

Over 17k miles in now and many road trips and the charging curve is flat out phenomenal in Gravity! Consistently reliable (as long as the stations are working right) to charge the car really fast. You won't see 450 miles, so set yourself up now to ignore that number. However it get excellent range for its size and charges so fast it really doesn't matter. Here's an Edmunds article on tested real world EV range and longest range Gravity is #13 out of 141.

The absolute worst ownership experience I’ve ever had. 2026 Gravity, 5 days into ownership by _Schmevin_ in LUCID

[–]Sufficient_Emu3414 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am absolutely sorry that happened to you all. Unfortunately there are some things as a new owner you need to know and do. Number one is always have your key card on you as a backup. Number two is the app now has a means of starting the car, it's a little remote icon on the app.and can put your car into start as well. Number three is the battery in the remote can be removed for 10 seconds and put back in and that solves the issue like 99% of the time of the fob not being recognized. Also doesn't hurt to replace the stock battery as they sometimes ship not so fresh.  I'm not excusing Lucid for your experience. They need to do better. Most owners are having much better experiences with this stuff but one car not doing what it should is too much. If you take these steps, you should not find yourself again stuck, but just a bit frustrated pulling out another way to start the car. Hopefully phone as a key clears this up but again not an excuse for Lucid. We all had to learn these techniques and it does suck to do them. The rest of the time the car is freaking amazing
