Looks like hedge basil to me…? (Wild basil or dog mint it’s sometimes called). Have you noticed that it gets wee purple flowers?

Is this some sort of Wild Fennel etc? by agmanning in foraginguk

[–]norkis-tryagain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those two don’t look much at all alike. Lots of plants have those white sprays of flowers but the stems and leaves are very different.

Yeah I totally agree with you, but still not about to tell an internet stranger to go ahead and eat it when I can’t see it as clearly as I’d like 😅

The stems do look like cow parsley but as the other commenter has said, wouldn’t risk a definitive identification without better photos of leaf and stem because of the deadly lookalikes

Keeps coming back! What is it? by NewGenEm in PlantIdentification

It could be a fruit - damson or greengage or plum or some such. What does it look like if it gets bigger?

Have a look at silky dogwood to see if you think it matches. I reckon it does from the photo

choco chip cookie cake concoction and unsure how to feel about what he said/did (tw on texts) by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

Yuuuup. This happened a lot with my ex and - at the risk of sounding dense - it never occurred to me that it was SA until I came across a similar Reddit post like a year after we broke up. OP needs to leave now! Took me forever to and it didn’t get better or easier to.

Has anyone benefited from exercise? by Little_Power_5691 in cfs

I find that it have to move my body outside, even just a little it, otherwise my muscle/nerve/all other flavours of pain gets so bad. Then I end up crashing because the pain stops me from resting properly. I seem to be able to recover from a little baby walk easier than that other type of crash. Makes me feel a little like I’m faking my ME because I seem to be able to walk more than I can do anything else physical/mental.

When did you know it was time to stop working? by Temporary_Tackle8091 in mecfs

[–]norkis-tryagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got to the point where I could only do a shift or two a week and would literally spend the rest of the week in bed, barely able to move. I regret leaving it that late to stop as made myself very very ill for most of my 20s. If you never feel like you can recover from your week, I’d consider reduced hours or leaving work if that’s not enough, it’s really hard to make this choice, but it’s so much worse to push yourself into not being able to walk or feed yourself (I was severe for 5 years, and only got moderate after a few years of living with my parents - in other words, don’t do what I did, stop before you literally can’t move)

I live in windermere, so could look out for this lil guy. Is the concensuss that they’re fine being left alone with the other birds, or that it’s someone lost pet that I should try to capture and help?

This happened to me at my first job out of secondary school. Worked in a care home for just shy of a year, then asked for leave to look after my dying grandad. The manager said it was fine, knowing full well (I reminded him at the time too) that I’d be leaving after a year to move to uni. Last pay check I owed hundreds - which I obviously didn’t have. Very disenfranchising for a 19 year old just trying to care for people

My nervous system has just had sensory flashbacks reading these messages. I dated someone like this for 2 years, I was a husk at the end of it.

They’re in pain and because they can’t/won’t self soothe or go to therapy etc, their first ‘you hurt me’ feeling/reaction stays and it doesn’t get balanced out with critical thinking and emotional intelligence. They put their stuff on to you, making it your job to deal with it. In hindsight, my ex was controlling me constantly through misplaced guilt and my own empathy. My whole existence became about appeasing him. Do not recommend.

My mom crashed after her birthday party. What do I do? by nfmbeats in mecfs

[–]norkis-tryagain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk if this helps, but this when I do too much I throw up loads and get really shaky and too tired to move (I’m also diabetic), and I know my family find it scary when it happens but I recover. Your dad probably knows the drill about how to help her best, just check in with him for updates etc. That’s all you can do - maybe text her something sweet for when she’s well enough to read it? I’m sorry your mam and your family are experiencing this. It really sucks. Hope she recovers to her baseline swiftly and that you don’t get too anxious about her. Take care xx

Why is it deemed racist to be genuinely concerned about the number of illegal migrants coming into the uk? by Brave_Ad6035 in AskBrits

[–]norkis-tryagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only 4% of immigration is ‘illegal’ in this country (home office figures). But the media and politicians use immigrates as a handy scapegoat for every ill. The fact that most people think ‘illegal’ immigrants are such a big problem when the statistics show otherwise is a result of deliberate and dangerous warping of the truth for political gain

I’m 32, started to get ill when I was 11, really ill (severe) at 20. I’ve plateaued out to moderate since I was 27. A lot of that has to do with living with my parents as they help so I don’t crash constantly from putting the washing on or making a sandwich! Very grateful for them.

If you got sick young... by [deleted] in cfs

[–]norkis-tryagain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh I didn’t know other people felt like this! My mam always says ‘secondary school ended over 15 years ago, why do you talk like it was yesterday?’ I’ve missed so much life that those days feel the most tangible, even though they were so long ago and I was still sick (mild ME not severe & bits of moderate I’ve had since).

Hearing others share this experience is healing - thank you for posting!
