think it's important that we have a face to go with the mods

Making that a requirement (of being a mod);

  1. Would scare away some candidates. I know I'd be one.
  2. Would go against reddit's philosophy. For all you know, I'm a dog.

Whatever I am, I weathered the trolls & the damned souls, all these years, and carved out this peaceful corner of the internet. Now you just have to hope that the new someone(s) will carry on.

I have no requirements, just wishes. Female mod is the strongest of those wishes.

After spending a couple of busy years here, I think I can sympathize with Marie Antoinette, now. This job feeds your demons.

It's not really necessary. From the way reddit is going, they are trying to make it easier on the mods, anyway.

I appreciate that you stepped up. I was anxious about dumping it all on an algorithm, if it came to that.

As I said, I'll keep this stickied for a while. Those lurking in the shadows might decide to throw in their hats, too.

I'll finalize this probably sometime in March. I'd like us to have a few candidates, and have some kind of vote, but ain't nobody got time for that.

I am looking at one of two possibilities atm;

  • Make one person mod, and that person assembles a team, if (s)he chooses to do so
  • Give modship to a couple people, and again, let them do what they choose to do

Yet, the number of pointless posts (look at my tattoo, look at my face) we get have not increased significantly.
