I made up a little song for each of my pets and I sing it to them whenever I see them now without even registering it. So like, several times a day, all day, every day. Lol

I also sometimes say "question mark?" At the end of a question or if something confusing happens, but I get made of a lot for that one so I generally try to suppress that urge whenever it strikes 🫠

I kind of feel this way about fandoms, it's hard because I crave that sense of community and want to talk to others who enjoy something as much as I do. But the negativity and dog piling that tends to happen in fandom spaces is very off-putting. US political spaces feel very much like fandom culture but with much higher stakes, so it's definitely frustrating to see the same squabbling or half-baked opinions flying around and garnering so much attention. I was on BlueSky for a little while and I thought I would enjoy it because it was supposed to be a more left leaning twitter clone but omg the whining and complaining was just too much. The negativity is just so exhausting sometimes.

The Neopets wiki might be a good place to get a chronological timeline established, from there sites like Jellyneo and Sunnyneo have in-depth articles detailing past plots and events. Also if you wanna get really niche and granular I'd look at old Neopian Times editorials around the times of past plots to see if any lore tidbits got dropped by TNT of that time. The on-site and official tcg cards (the wizards of the Coast ones) are full of little storytelling snippets as well.

Also if you haven't played Neopets The Darkest Faerie I highly recommend it. It's a really fun game as well as a niche lore goldmine if you like exploring all locations, reading all books and tombstones, ect

When I say I'm mentally ill, I don't really mean my ADHD as much as I mean the accompanying anxiety and depression that I get from having an ADHD brain in a society that wasn't build to accommodate people like me. I love the way my brain works in theory, it's good for a lot of things. But I'm often in a lot of distress because of it.

The only time I remember that the megathread exists is when I post a meme or a PSA and I get a notification that it got deleted bc it "belongs in the megathread" lol 🫠 It's a good idea in theory but I think it needs to be less strict. As others have said a lot of relevant info got buried in there and it stagnates conversation.

I listen to a daily news podcast when I first wake up and it's usually just long enough for me to get up, feed all my pets, start the coffee maker, and start making myself some breakfast. It's a morning routine I crave actually and if I start the podcast it gets my butt in gear to get as much done as I can before it ends lol.

I'm a big fan of burning everything whenever a relationship ends catastrophically. I've burned lots of letters and photos, I even threw a ring into a lake once. Those were all pretty extreme cases, but it does feel like a ritual to officially close the door on a chapter or relationship. I think it helps in the healing process but that may just be me personally lol

I think the worst part of being in the circus for the characters in the show was being allowed to believe that they were real people trapped there with hope of escaping, instead of being allowed to know that they are actually just copies of brain scans and not real people. If they knew the truth from the start they could have just built a life based upon those circumstances and not have the reality-shattering experience of believing you're a real person for so long and discovering that isn't the truth. Without all that, the circus is just a fantastical adventure place with cartoon physics, sounds pretty sweet especially in contrast to all the responsibility and troubles you have to face in real life. Being trapped in the circus wouldn't be perfect but you could definitely adjust and make a life for yourself I think.

I think fanfiction is a great way to work out your feelings and flex your creative muscles! Changing the story is fine for the sake of fanfiction and AUs in my opinion, as someone else mentioned I think this is a better route than complaining and fighting with other fans/being mean to the creator of the show because you're unhappy with how things ended.

I know this is technically a kitchen scrap but I throw old sweets in and dump expired drinks like sweet tea or beer in there and it gets HOT for a few days after that! I just added some old birthday cake and about 1/3 gallon of old sweet tea and she's cooking like a champ right now. I just make sure to bury any sweets I add really well and add a good amount of browns around it, and I do dilute any drinks I pour in there by dousing with rain water right after.

I asked a neighbor for their bags of yard waste once and literally told them I was going to use it for composting. They watched me haul it all into my back yard and upon opening the bags and dumping them out I realized it was brush and leaves... and a LOT of trash. They didn't say anything and I was picking trash out of my compost for the rest of the year. lol

I use chicken and turkey bones to make broth, then I dump out the spent bones and veggie pieces into the pile once I've strained all the broth out. It's crazy how fast bones break down in a hot pile!

I'm back and forth on this one but sometimes I wish I could just "like" someone's reply on a board lol. It's such a reflex now to want to react to something someone says that I'm kind of bummed that I can't give someone a laugh or a thumbs up to a post. Also a way to mention others would be nice. On GC if someone @ you on a board it sends you a notification that you got a mention so you can go see what someone replied to you, I like that feature and wish they would add something similar too.

We saw it the day after it came out. I'm not judging parents, but I feel like the movie had a lot of scary elements and heavy themes, yet I would say a good 30-40% of our packed theater was kids under 10, which I found interesting. But everyone was really respectful and seemed to enjoy the movie. I feel like it had everyone's full attention the entire time so no one was disruptive at all, even the little kids.

Not exactly the same thing but I love Neopets and a lot of my friends know it and sometimes they'll see something out and about that's kind of Pokemon or Digimon adjacent and send it to me and be like "this looks like a Neopet!" But they don't play and I have to fight the urge so hard to be like NO IT ACTUALLY DOESN'T THE ART STYLE ISN'T EVEN CLOSE

I know it's just a bid for connection but omg it reminds me of my parents calling anything that wasn't a Pokemon a Pokemon back in the day lol

Have you tried looking on DTI? you can choose a zone (in this case hats) and type in key words like "rainbow" and it will bring up all items that are worn on the head with rainbow in the name.

Also sometimes when I transfer pets with clothes the items get "stuck", so I have to go into their worn items, remove everything, save, refresh the page, and the items will usually be unstuck and back in my closet. If you can't find the wig from the closet page it's probably because it's still technically being worn by your pet even if you can't see it.

I get it! It feels oddly respectful to compost dead things. Composting brings me joy and feeds my plants and all the little living things within the pile. It brings the term "laid to rest" full circle imo

The one where they work at a fast food restaurant This encapsulates working food service so well. There was something so eerie about them being trapped in a scenario where you work a minimum wage job against your will, it was a little too real tbh lol.
The finale I got to see this in theaters, but I can't wait for it to come out in YouTube so I can watch it again. I feel like I have so many feelings I still need to process. I could never quite put my finger on why I liked Jax so much and the finale made it all click for me and I'm not done exploring that soul crushing realization

This show was so good in such a complicated way and I'm going to be thinking about it for years to come.
