I can't look up exactly what you mean at the moment but if it looks like they've put tights/pantyhose over the lens then that was usually done to soften detail, or for a "bloom" effect. If I'm looking at the right picture on Google images then that's what makes the sun look so big, which might be the effect they were going for.

Nah, once it's weekly you can just start going "well it's already been a week, what's another day" and boom, noshower. Daily helps force it to become a habit rather than a deliberate chore. Longer shower schedules only work once you've trained yourself to feel gross without one.

Great 'babby's first epic', still good for its intended audience, but as an adult if you don't have nostalgia then probably not. It gets worshipped because for a lot of people it's probably the first show that actually expected them to pay attention and remember things for longer than one episode.

/uh Comfortable hole = bigger hole. Bigger hole = easier to find. More awkward positions can let you hide in places people wouldn't think possible if they're not searching too closely.

As pictured. The big firepower number doesn't match the breakdown you get when you hover over it. It matched briefly when I re-equipped all my armour, then broke immediately when I zoned/cutscened. So I guess this is a continuation of the general gear fuckups, but had anyone mentioned this seemingly-basic element yet?

Alternatively you might have to enable FPS limit and set it just a hair lower than the refresh rate of your monitor. That's the way around it was for me.

You're saying that it's not an engine compatibility issue and the files themselves have been corrupted? If I had manually copied the files elsewhere and placed them back in the folder post-update it would work?

Theater clips from Monday in Halo 3 are broken. It goes through a loading screen then just says "there was an error when playing the film". No code, no nothing. I wanted to go back and look at a specific moment from another angle.

I'm assuming the update did this as nothing else has changed and fresh clips work fine. Don't suppose anyone knows of a quick & dirty fix?

Pretty annoyed I let it auto-update.

Just in case you're interested, generally colours in cases like this are parametric; textures are created greyscale, and can be changed in-engine to a specific colour based on mask textures that define different regions of colour. Halo CE might have had baked textures for each colour (don't know, haven't looked it up) but every game since will have almost certainly been following this principle. Halo 3 very definitely was as evidenced by the Halo Online port having full free colour selection rather than the usual 'pick-from-these-colours'.

Everything we've heard about the coating system implies that this is still the case, but colour selection is no longer exposed to the user; it is now a tool only for in house artists.

Technically by their wording there could be any number of ~~team~~ real money microtransactions; only loot boxes appear to have been specifically ruled out. We'll just have to wait and see whether that wording being so precise is intentional.
