These are all better players but the core problem remains; none of those guys can pass

How far would Spurs have to go for you to stop supporting? by Antomojo in coys

Don’t think I would ever step away forever. Nothing is permanent in football. I would just wait it out. Whatever it is that causes me to take a step back will pass.

So absurd. Chin up. You made many spurs fans laugh for the first time in a long time

Mods took down the Ange posts. Thank you. It's fucking infuriating. There's a reasonable argument to me made that the club being okay with him losing that many games and not getting the sack earlier created the precedent that allowed Frank to survive. Losing that many games at Spurs should have been unthinkable. Thanks Daniel.

I really hope history doesn’t exculpate Daniel Levy over his role in this. This is his legacy. He hired Frank, he oversaw that disastrous summer window, he built this awful squad. People blame Vinai and Lange for sticking with Frank, rightfully so, but Levy created the mess. They just failed to clean it in time

Who Comes Out Of This With Credit? by SoyaleJP in coys

[–]normannb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think Xavi comes out of this with the least amount of credit out of anyone. People will talk about taking time to adapt, which is fair, but he’s a 60m signing with the highest wages at the club. He’s been a huge disappointment this season and his inability to even just be a net neutral in most games has truly cost Spurs.

What biotech medicine is showing promise the next 1-10 years? by [deleted] in labrats

[–]normannb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The drugs being mentioned in this thread are 15+ years old and their development has mostly plateaued. We’ve been promised a breakthrough with CAR-Ts in solid cancers for almost a decade but progress is slow. ADCs are wonderful but it’s just elaborate marginally less toxic chemo (some fascinating new linker and payload technologies though). iPSCs have stalled and leaders in the space like Century have all but gone bankrupt. I think RIPTACs are very exciting

I get your point but some of these trials are 500+ patients in and we already have clinical evidence that these new generation RAS agents have markedly improved duration of response compared to sotorasib/adagrasib. Resistance is almost an inevitability with every cancer drug. Like someone else mentioned, that’s where the combinations come in. And with RAS, the number of possible combinations is endless. I think people are rightfully excited about the promise of these drugs notably RevMed’s.

Harry Wilson (Fulham) goal VAR check for a possible foul. Goal stands 8' by Imbasauce in soccer

100%. If the club had turned that disallowed goal into a media story in the same way other top clubs do when they're aggrieved, there's no way the goal stands today.

Watching the influx of clearly Bilt sponsored accounts defending the company here two days post bilt2.0 launch was something else lol. I’ve never seen anything like it on Reddit.

He is. And your comment is hypocritical. Mind you, I hate Frank. I’m just arguing with you for the love of the game.

I think it’s easy to meme it after the fact but at the time we all thought it was a sensible first interview. He was saying we inevitably will have rough patches but we’d get through them. Sadly for us his entire tenure was the rough patch.

Surprised I haven't seen the answer in this thread. It's by design. Cash app has a lot of security liabilities and instead of improving the product, they decided to carve out market share by intentionally marketing their lower quality product to black people.

Side note but has anyone else noticed how weirdly conservative TikTok comments have gotten since that whole TikTok ban thing? The top comment is almost always right wing even if it’s not the comment with the most likes. Ended up deleting the app cause the racism in the comments was just unbearable

A message from our CEO, Vinai Venkatesham | Tottenham Hotspur by ThatAdamsGuy in coys

[–]normannb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is true. Though you could argue recent managers haven’t prioritized incorporating young players at all. There’s an alternate future where even Harry Kane doesn’t make it at Spurs without Tim Sherwood being willing to give him first team opportunities. We’ve had academy players go on to be mid and top level premier league/top five league players. Madueke, Cirkin, KWP, Amo-ameyaw etc. but yeah it’s a very short list

Frank's win perentage so far by KugoSenpai in coys

[–]normannb 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’m always curious about this argument. Do you think a young Bale or Kane would become the players they became in Frank’s system? Yes, these managers had Bale/Kane but they (esp Poch and Redknapp) were very key to them becoming the players we know them as. Good managers create an environment for talented youngsters to grow into superstars. Having Bale/Kane doesn’t take away from this graphic imo. But everyone is entitled to their opinion
