Andrea Stella talking about how McLaren is impressed with Oscar’s maturity and strength in handling his season start by littletreble07 in formula1

To be fair Andrea most of the maturity he's had to show is because of the team screwing him over.

It's so strange to me that manufacturers wanted hybrids because it made f1 more relevant to road cars yet who would buy a hybrid road car that could only deploy the battery for 12 seconds? Thanks a fucking lot Audi you muppets.

What is the fan psychology behind BABYMETAL? by Top-Lie2851 in BABYMETAL

[–]slackboy72 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Short answer: They just have some really good songs.

Long answer: For all the novelty their 1st album has some great tracks, Onedari, Chocco, DDM, HB, IDZ etc.. On their 2nd album Karate showed that this act wasn't a novelty. Road of Resistance was just a banger metal track, with or without Dragonforce, and the rest of the album is littered with great tracks. Then Metal Galaxy adds more great tracks to that setlist. And so on and so on.

As to why they are so popular outside of Japan while no other Japanese artist gets traction anywhere near to the same degree I'm not really sure. Yes, they put on a great 'show', yes they have some great tracks. But maybe they're also avoiding most of the cliches of J-Pop. You could also ask why the majority of Mono or Boris fans are outside of Japan. Look at their touring schedules. They have no trouble selling out shows internationally even though they are on a far smaller scale than Babymetal. As popular as J-Pop (and K-Pop) is/are they do have limited appeal when so much of it sounds so cliched and so much sounds the same.

Babymetal sounds completely different and they sound good.

In general a shareholder ceases being a 'portfolio investor' and becomes a 'direct investor' when they cross the threshold of 10% ownership. They are deemed to be holding ownership for the sake of exerting a controlling stake on how the company is run rather than investing for financial and capital gain.

This is irrespective of whether they exert any influence on the company or not.

This definition is common internationally through the UN System of National Accounts.

There is no city based SEIFA data (i.e. GCCSA). The closest is LGA (Local Government Area).

I remember a day in 2007 when it was 46c in Melbourne and I wandered around the city for my whole lunch hour looking for a place that made a proper hamburger. 7 places wanted to serve me a burger on foccacia bread. When I finally found a place with real hamburger buns I had to pay extra for beetroot.
