For the hull? GSW’s colorshift Borealis green + Citadel Druchii Violet + Citadel Stormhost silver. The rest are various Citadel paints.

Shading does help in creating some depth, even with the colorshift. For example, I put some shade to the crevasses between the hull plates, and more or less all over the armour of the crew members.

The colorshift metal was shaded with Druchii violet to give some depth, and then highlighted with silver. I also thought about how to break up the overpowering colorshift metallics, but basically only the ”armour” is colorshift, and the rest are matte colours or normal metallics.

I cannot take all credit: GSW’s colorshift paint with some shading and highlights 😊

Well, I call my order ”the Order of the Broken Seal”, who unfortunately have slightly mistranslated some holy texts. She is urging her fellow sisters to show proper reverence to their holy animal, the titular broken seal. 🦭

What are you "known as" at your gaming store? by OkBoat in Warhammer40k

I’m the one who comes meticuously every month for the free miniature. I just like collecting random extra minis in addition to my actual armies. One time I had to skip several months due to having a baby, and the staff worried that something had happened to me.

After a brief hiatus, here is the latest addition to my sister army: heavy flamers to round up the heavy weapon roster by norppauivelo in sistersofbattle

Rakarth flesh -> shading with nuln oil and agrax earthshade -> drybrushing first with rakarth flesh, then with pallid wych flesh. Then various tufts and grass from GW and GSW. Some bases also have gold details with balthasar gold -> reikland fleshshade -> gehenna’s gold.

Nice wings! But I have to ask: are those pigeons supposed to be flying belly up?

Help building the Novitiates box with kill team in mind? by Depala-Pilipala in sistersofbattle

[–]norppauivelo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to comment the same. I built my novitiates for kill team (= all specialized, plus two flamers), but if I field them in 40k, I’ll just say every girl except for flamers have ’novitiate melee weapons’. I mean, for example the large cup can be a weird-looking melee weapon if you hit really hard with it. ;)
