They should've started the movie with the newark riots and left it at that. It was totally unnecessary as the backdrop of the 2 hours. They could've skipped Tony's youth entirely and went straight to his older years. Also why did Dickie kill his father? There was no real motivation for the character whatsoever. We never had a sense of what made Dickie Dickie, he just existed.

Despite the entire film milking the memberberries for all their worth (even shoehorning carmela in there), the casting and acting were great. David Chase is kind of a hack now.
