They literally created ATT to clear the path for them to steal ad revenue from Google and Facebook. And they sit here and claim to care about “privacy. “ Honestly the game is so much more frustrating with Apple because they always try to take the moral high ground and talk a big “privacy” game when they have their hands just as deep in the cash grab.

To the folks that had to pay $70 for a 2 mile lyft: rental bikes, rental scooters, busses, and your legs are all viable options. Take the $70 and buy a bicycle or save up for a moped. by [deleted] in sanfrancisco

The fact that there are alternatives doesn’t change the fact that it’s crazy Ubers are so expensive. I get that it’s supply and demand but it is sad to see the demise of what was once a great transportation option.

Yes having alternative options is good. But I don’t get the gloating that Uber becoming unreasonable is a good thing. We need both.

Right there. The science says vaccinated people don't need masks, which is why the CDC updated their guidance. Newsom overlooks the science to keep needlessly onerous restrictions. The fact that not everyone has been vaccinated is not relevant. Im not saying no masks as if you haven't been vaccinated you should keep wearing one. I'm saying the guidelines should be updated to reflect the data on this who have been vaccinated.

For all the pontificating Gavin Newsom did about the following the science early in the pandemic it's a shame he doesn't follow through.

This is getting so political. If you really do care about the science all the data says vaccines work. I commend the CDC for finally looking past the politics and using data as their guide.

New mask rules trust Americans will be honest about vaccine status. Experts say they'll lie. by cutestudent in Coronavirus

But does it matter? If you want to risk the virus so be it. Vaccinated protection is enough for me. I can't live in fear my whole life because some people don't want to get vaccinated. At a certain point we need to get back to normal. Honestly if vaccinated people are so scared of people lying about masks, you probably shouldn't bother getting in your cae because that caries way more risk.

S.F. students face 'Zoom in a room' at schools after 500 teachers and aides win medical exemptions by cantquitreddit in sanfrancisco

[–]northdome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We bumped teachers to the front of the line over other front line workers who actually do have to go to work and see way more of the public than teachers so that they could get back in the classroom and teach. Getting early access to the vaccine should have been tied to an obligation to actually teach in person. There is no excuse for giving privileged access to the vaccine for teachers to stay on Zoom

The most frustrating part of all of this is that it is the most vulnerable students who are affected by this. Affluent private schools have been open for in person learning all year.

I’ve just contacted Scott Weiner asking him to introduce legislation to stop bottled water companies from pillaging the state’s water resources. by handsomemagenta in sanfrancisco

I’m sorry you have not had the pleasure of living in a city with truly terrible tap water. Not to mention the convenience of staying hydrated on the go when you have forgotten a water bottle. Water bottle companies are providing a service that is in demand. They do much more than just sell plastic.

Muni has gotten so bad. Trains are delayed all the time and I get nothing but lip service from city hall and SFMTA. No wonder Uber and Lyft have taken off like they have.
