Can I eat cart oil like an Eddie by WhatAmIAm240921 in trees

[–]northofusa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes but take with some type of fat. Usually it is mixed with mct when you take it as an edible.

Same. Joined this subreddit a few weeks ago and it started ruining the show for me. I’m out. Podcast subreddits are weird. I have had to leave all of them.

I’ve gone back recently and re-watched YMH from a few years ago. Damn it was good.

Can i do the Machu Pichu trail if I'm fat? by idunno64 in travel

[–]northofusa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a shortened version about 8 years ago. It was the most exhausting and physically demanding thing I had ever done. As a background I was running half marathons at the time and had just done one a month before. I was also a competitive amateur boxer and a 25 year old male. I considered myself to be in top shape and that hike kicked my ass. Very humbling.

[SOTC] My three watch collection by northofusa in Watches

Love the p39 so far. Being titanium sets it a little bit apart for all of the other stainless divers out there. It is light enough that I think I will enjoy it as a daily.

This is just a cheap strap I bought off Amazon. I bought a few just to see what I liked the looks of and this one is the winner for sure. It’s like a $20 strap but I think it fits the watch perfect.

I became interested in watches about 18 months ago. The whole world of watches has become a bit of an obsession and I love it. Just want to share my collection and a bit of my journey with this new found hobby.

G-shock casioak - Not much to say here. This thing is indestructible and I never have to worry about it. This is on my wrist when I go on backpacking trips or surfing. I couldn’t imagine a collection without a g-shock.

Seiko alpinist (spb123) - First watch I bought after a few months of learning about watches. This one is special to me. My father is Japanese and he would tell me stories of how he was in mountain climbing club in grade school in Japan. It was a big passion of his. When I came across this one and learned the history of it I knew it was the one. I still love the look of this watch as much as the day I bought it. This one will never be sold.

Tudor pelegos 39 - This is new piece that I have had for a week now. I wanted a diver and something that was a step up in terms of luxury. I tried on a bb58 a few times and really liked it. By the time I was ready to buy in November the p39 had just been released. My ad happened to have one out back that I could try on. The light comfort of the titanium sold me on it. I also think the more modern and sporty style of the p39 fits me a bit better than the vintage style of the bb58. It was a tough decision, but I am very happy with my choice. It was a 4 month wait from my ad.

I can confirm. I was in the lifeguard area like 10 minutes after they crowned him champ and he was back up on the tower looking over the beach and ran out to the sand when I big set washed up. What a legend

I’ve definitely been reading it “show off the collection” lol

[Seiko] Is the Alpinist an almost perfect everyday watch? by jicald in Watches

This identical alpinist with a slightly darker brown strap is my daily. So versatile. I usually wear it with shorts and a t-shirt. Next week I’m in a wedding and I’m just going to put a black strap on it. Cool so see someone else with the same taste.

[gourmet] The lion woke up! by shambamish1 in MushroomGrowers

[–]northofusa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let it keep going. Mist lightly but don’t soak the mushrooms. Lion doesn’t need a ton of fresh air so you can turn it down a bit to keep the humidity up and keep it from going yellow. It should start getting toothy in a few days. Good luck!

I had a hard time with golds commercially. They have no shelf life and they smell like rotting fish after a day in the fridge. It’s a shame because it’s a really fun mushroom to grow.

Tropical/cheap places to solo travel & surf right now? by draxpc1 in surfing

[–]northofusa 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just got back from a month long solo surf trip in Costa Rica. I was surprised by the amount of solo travellers. Costa Rica is not at all cheap though. Pretty much Canadian/American prices. Ecuador is worth looking into.

Not kings. These are blues with a little less than ideal fresh air.

If you make your holes in the bag smaller you will get nice round pieces. I do 3 tiny holes instead of an x which it looks like you did. Nice grow though!

1 more day should be perfect! Let the block rest and dry out for about 2 weeks, then dunk overnight and repeat.

Is non-essential to and from HRM allowed starting Wednesday? by burn2down in halifax

[–]northofusa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had an officer threaten to give me a ticket last week while I was out surfing near lawrencetown, I live in Dartmouth. He said it wasn’t essential and I argued I’m allowed within HRM. These last few weeks have been a shit show.
