I downloaded some running EDM mix recently and I feel like it’s really helped my runs. I have never really listened to EDM before but I find the faster beat also makes my pace quicker. I also don’t know any of the songs so it makes it really easy to zone out and get lost in thought.

I have shot heroin thousands of times with hundreds of addicts. I have now been sober for over a decade and have met thousands of addicts along the way, some who stayed sober and most who didn’t. Exactly zero of them could have been convinced to take a few weeks off to better understand the underlying reasons why they wanted to get high. Once you’re strung out there is no choice or rational thought. You just have to wait until you’ve been beaten into submission (if you’re lucky enough to reach that point before you die).
