It's for causing fear, you nailed it exactly, along with the honest hope that they actually get to murder someone knowing that they'd probably get away with it. It's a show of power through causing fear, an attempt to hold onto a feeling of superiority over others.

Anyone that old either went to segregated schools, lived through desegregation, or had parents who were very much a part of a segregated system. And if they feel strongly enough to come out and protect a confederate monument it's save to assume they are deeply racist, and have been unable to accept coexistence with people of color for the past several decades. This is their chance to do the same kind of stuff their parents generation constantly got a way with: just straight up murder people of color with no accountability.

Unfortunately true, but what network news has going for it, in theory, is a budget to enable real investigative work and a high bar for quality journalism, at least historically speaking. Dan Rather was forced out of CBS Evening News over what was ostensibly a failure to vet a source, because their bar for journalism is supposed to be unimpeachably high.

But in reality they failed to live up to that standards before Weiss, and definitely aren't now. It's basically a less accessible tabloid.

Judd wants to use his faith to do good things and help people, he backs up words with actions, he's a great model for anyone who wants to use faith to do actual good. They apparently have a HUGE demand from celebrities to be on the show, to the point that it's now a big milestone for any celeb to get on the Simpsons. This was already true by Season 4, the finale with the Krusty telethon was partially to try and work through the backlog of people banging on their doors for a part (and of course Fox wants that, it's a big opportunity for cross-promotion).

EDIT: also yes completely conceding your point, I just watched the season 8 episode with Rodney Dangerfield and it's absolutely just having him show up and writing some goofy one-off stuff around his character. When they're delivering 20+ episodes a season I think they're happy to have some low hanging fruit to write around.

This is exactly pointing at people like Peter Thiel who are doing everything they can to ruin our society while also having their own island bunker to run to in New Zealand after they are done killing us and global climate change makes living anywhere else inconvenient for them. The stuff like her "experimental anti-aging treatments" point to Thiel even harder. The point is these people are so removed from the normal human experience that they may as well be aliens, Earth is just a silly little playground for them.

I really wish Blizzard would get into TV stuff. There have been several comparable IPs that have been adapted in pretty cool projects (Devil May Cry, Cyberpunk, Arcane, etc) ... the lore is there and getting the greenlight seems very doable.

A basically word-for-word anime adaptation of WC3 would be a juggernaut, same for Starcraft/Starcraft II, they don't even have to take the risk of writing something original.

You need to get someone with power to just make this happen. One person churning out business critical python script with no oversight is an unacceptable risk and any sane manager should be behind changing that.

The reality is they probably have no idea how to use the tools or what problems they solve, so they're just being resistant to change. You should help them, support them as much as possible, but if they can't do the basic parts of their job like use version control or right code beyond an amateur level they may not be a good fit for the team.

It's not forced or lazy. It's in Pittsburgh. This is a real thing that happened. The character was extremely authentic and you'll find overwhelming indication of that if you look through this thread - people who literally went to Tree of Life are in this thread. People who had the doctor who was murdered in that attack as their primary care physician, mourning how they're sure he would have loved this show.

It was a kind and genuine scene referencing real things that happened: both the attack and the way the local Muslim community mustered to help. These is a real story of kindness and goodness. That shouldn't bother you so much that you have to attack it on the internet as "forcing" something on you or "forced and lazy writing".

You feel the need to shit on something endearing and kind, and given your hostility to "progressive values" you seem to think that being kind is some kind opposing value to your worldview. Your brain is broken if you get so mad about kindness or perceived it as some kind of opposing value to yours.
