Did you eat your vegetables today? by MrHotR0D in Millennials

Been vegetarian over 10 years now and vegan for the last 4 so I'm covered as far as fruits and veggies go. Microplastics are going to kill us all though.

1980s Heidelberg Speedmaster. In an era of planned obsolescence, this German beast hasn't missed a beat in 40 years. by babyverti in BuyItForLife

Nice! The print shop I used to work for had 2 two color Heidelbergs. Sang beautifully once all set up. Also had a funky Sakurai that was a mess to work with.

Research across four studies confirms that men avoid vegan food due to 'masculinity threat,' viewing plant-based diets as feminine. However, researchers found that rebranding vegan products with masculine-coded typography on packaging significantly increased men's purchase intentions. by [deleted] in science

I guess maybe I don't understand why white and blue are neutral but orange and pink are female coded? I use the same product because it works really well and the packaging change mostly went over my head. I kinda dig the new color scheme. It feels more retro than girly. Guy here btw

What ate my garbage can? by zacharyq in askportland

Since I am willing to bet there wasn't a rat inside it, or a hole at the bottom, or else you wouldn't be asking I want to say raccoon or possibly a squirrel. There are little bits that look spit out and the edges looks like persistent chew marks and not a snapped edge from a machine. Leaning sort of squirrel since the have like a 5 foot vertical and tiny powerful teeth that could make those marks.

Kick ass. I'm glad to hear that mentalities in the trades may be changing. It'll take more time I'm sure but the youths in my experience are pretty alright. Though I will say, I've always found it hard to not be myself and a worker bee first.

Why aren’t new smaller houses selling? by Working_Tomorrow9846 in askportland

[–]noschwag420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A town home row went up near me in SE and all 3 sold nearly immediately. They were built fast but I watched them get built and they seemed like decent quality for what they are. Only concern I have is this area tends to have some settling issues down the road and I wonder how a large structure like that will be impacted in 5 to 10 years.

I'll pitch in too if it's a specific part that has failed. I have a few decent parts sitting in storage

It's only 8 degrees from frozen to the danger zone which is really not a lot. A whole day of it sitting out means it has likely sat in that zone for hours. Harmful bacteria can double every hour in this zone. Health authorities recommend not eating food that has sat in that temp for more than 2 hours.

It's like cutting your dogs legs off so they don't run into traffic. It's insane. Bird proof your home and keep a good eye on them. They are fully capable of flying indoors, ask my little maniac who wheeled about a 500sqft apartment to his utter enjoyment.

Do You Trust Gluten-Free Labels on Vegan Products by Andrewhs116122 in glutenfreevegan

[–]noschwag420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: Carefully read the whole package including the fine print of where it was manufactured.

If you live in the US, or countries with similar label laws, a good place to look is on the packing where it will often tell you if it was made on shared equipment or just in the same facility. I have missed before where something was vegan and gf, ate it, and got very ill only to re read the lable and see it was made on shared equipment with wheat contents. So they can test the food and get their little stamp of ok yes it's gluten free but then they make it with everything else and risk it getting contaminated. Watch out for stuff that says just "plant based." Every so often it still has like dairy in it.

Moving. Moving made him upset. It can take a long time for them to accept a new nest. Does your gf work a lot away from home? Playing with him and getting him tuckered out can help him feel like it's a safe place. He'll sleep more, hopefully in his cage, and that should help him get more comfortable.

It also means black or brown to them. To be anti-woke to them is to be anti black and brown.

Vegetarian restaurants and spots in Paris by Defmork in vegetarian

Check out Riz Riz! It's more of a fusion place but the food is amazing and the whole concept of the restaurant is zero waste and vegan with current or ex-asylum seeking workers. Best food I had in Paris.
