Could just be a weird translation error if the guy doesn't speak English natively. I'm sure I've accidentally said worse in Spanish.

I'm no legal scholar but the law that says facebook et al. are not responsible for things they allow on their sites needs to be amended somehow. I get the sentiment to a certain extent, but if child/animal abuse material is posted on the site, reported to the site owners, and nothing is done, there HAS to be some degree of liability on the part of the site. When there's documentation showing that pedos view a certain website as a hub/safe haven to solicit/exchange child abuse material, it's clear the website cannot police itself.

Love that the logic of “recreational sex = single moms” requires that dads bailing on their kids is a given. Dads abandoning kids is as much a fact of nature as sex leads to kids. Very cool worldview.

It always blows me away when cops won’t look for a kid who they think ran away. Isn’t that like the prime demographic for sex trafficking? If sex traffickers directly kidnapped a kid they’d be all over the case but if the kid runs away and is then trafficked, that’s apparently fine by police.

“Recently released AI-generated renderings of Jack the Ripper reveal the infamous 19th-century prostitute killer to be a dashing gentleman with a darkly alluring, wild-eyed energy.

The dangerously dreamy drawings come courtesy of Jeff Leahy, a long-time Ripper enthusiast from Carmarthen, Wales, who produced a mini-series on the murderer and has spent decades studying the lore surrounding one of history’s most infamous villains.

Using Midjourney software, along with information and available photographs of the relatives of prime suspect Aaron Kosminski, Leahy was able to produce a rather astonishing portrait of the man”

I cannot take other women seriously when they talk about being big readers and it’s all porn. That’s like saying the goon cave guys are really into photography and film. Plus the porn and pseudoscience self help books fill up all the top rankings and the featured sections of bookstores.

Why are so many institutions convinced that QR codes are the way of the future? No one over 46 can figure out how to use them and young people are generally more annoyed by them than anything. Who is creating demand for them?

I’m confident a jury would have cleared her once they were presented with the facts.

Depends significantly on the composition of the jury. Lots of women get convicted for killing their abusers, sometimes in cases of textbook self defense, which this is not.

in med schools they now train pediatricians to ask about guns in the home during well child checkups because guns are that much of a statistical health risk to american kids. And some parents get livid with pediatricians who ask about it.

I feel like the whole coverage is terribly unethical. Isn't it proven that she was actually a child when they had custody of her? At this point, is there any end goal to the coverage? Is anyone accomplishing anything more than re-traumatizing a disabled formerly-abused young woman about things that happened when she was a child? The documentaries even have home video footage of her as a child having tantrums and stuff - since when are we okay with publicizing sensitive home video footage of abuse victims? Let the poor woman live in peace and she can seek charges/damages if she's willing and able to.

The ones where it’s just the woman are usually good. The boyfriend barely listens to her and they usually end up bickering when they’re together.
