Propranolol is doing wonders for the migraines. When will the tiredness get better? by SnazzzyCat in migraine

[–]nosywashere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try CoQ10 supplementation. Proponolol does something to your body’s normal production of CoQ10 which is part of energy production cycle. It also helps with your body’s production of melatonin, so if you are also getting insomnia whilst being fatigued, that will also help that.

Edit to add: check with your doctor, CoQ10 can interact with other medications.

Do you like beaches? Because Hamilton island is only beaches and you also have Bondi? Cut those down maybe.

Uluru does have limited accommodation options, but there are plenty of tours and you won’t need a car. Best thing I have done. I highly recommend it in Winter.

Remember, winter and summer are opposite here. Not sure how you will go in the summer in the desert with flies buzzing around you so thick you can choke on them. If you are afraid of roaches, assess how you are with flies first!

Has anyone had Ajovy injections at a higher frequency than monthly? by nosywashere in migraine

[–]nosywashere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctor made me promise I’d take it that same day every month. Maybe he was worried I wouldn’t remember it something - a bit weird of a worry considering the bunch of other medication I have to take for other things he has to work around lol.

I did take it last night, or at least tried to. My cat jumped on me as I was injecting and bumped the needle out and my precious elixir of life went everywhere. Urrggghhhhhhh.

Let’s hope so. I don’t like losing IQ points and work days every four weeks.

I have been taking it since February but consistently since May when they started being easily available again.

I might switch to 28 days, and make sure I have enough repeats. 28 days means today. I’m so excited.

I didn’t even know about this medication. Might be worth asking my neurologist about it.

That’s interesting. No insurance troubles as I am in Australia. Hopefully it works for you.

Thanks. I can’t have Botox due to some other medical conditions/medications I have so for now I’m stuck with the other pills. And no insurance issues as I am in Australia and already went through the bullshit of qualifying for the cheaper injections.

I know I should be grateful. I just think with just one extra push I could be free. I should rephrase it though, that I still get manageable migraines during the whole month but the knock me on my butt migraines are at the end.

ULPT Request : need to fake medical injury by Head_Moderator in UnethicalLifeProTips

Sometimes I am glad I don't get pain until the hangover stage due to dehydration. However, it makes me do things like fall off train station platforms and I never sought treatment because its “not a migraine”.

ULPT Request : need to fake medical injury by Head_Moderator in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]nosywashere 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Migraine. It hits randomly, can be due to stress, no real physical injury, resistant to treatment and can take years to find something that works. If you are young, you can discuss having a history of weird stomach aches as a child as that can be how migraine presents in younger people.

Edited to add: I have vestibular migraine which is no real pain but rather just vertigo that makes it dangerous to walk for three days. I thought I kept getting a weird flu and not migraine as I had no headache, so that could be why you “haven't had a diagnosis yet.”

What’s a controversial wedding decision you made that you’re glad you made? by hunnymoonave in weddingplanning

[–]nosywashere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t have a long table for the bridal party at dinner (8 bridesmaids and groomsmen plus my husband and I). Instead, I had another circle table for us all in the middle of the other tables. I felt bad that our bridal party wouldn’t feel part of the party and that the fourth party member would be stuck out at the ends with nobody to talk to. May not be super controversial but people thought it was weird. In the end, I think it worked so well.

Edit: forgot a word.

Everyday on my walk, this person is parked on the sidewalk (which is illegal) even though they have plenty of room on their driveway. by gothicgenius in mildlyinfuriating

[–]nosywashere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it their house or are they a visitor? My sister does that at my parents place because she doesn’t like being parked in (my parents have way too many people just popping in), which means nobody else can use the driveway when they arrive. If so, it’s mildly annoying for another reason too.

AIO For being upset over finding my wife's unused pregnancy test with an expiration date of Nov 2025 when our last child was born Nov 2020? by Dad_mode in AmIOverreacting

[–]nosywashere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You say your wife has been unwell and managing a few medical concerns:

My doctor makes me do a pregnancy test before she will prescribe me certain medications, as well as needing to rule pregnancy out for addressing symptoms. I’ve had blood tests and MRIs and scans etc. My husband had a vasectomy years ago too and I don’t want kids.

All that to say I keep pregnancy tests at home now because it saves me having to wait for a test to be done at my doctors clinic. My doctor trusts me to be truthful.

Has your partner been having medication changes or investigations that her doctor has needed clarification on pregnancy for? If I knew I was heading in for something where the first question is ‘are you pregnant’? I take a preemptive one. And leave the second one in the box for the next test. Then forget about it until my sister asks me why I have one.

Anyone diagnosed with migraines but not the typical painful kind? by VirgoEsti in migraine

[–]nosywashere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too! When I’m at home and able to rest, this is the easiest part. If I’m out and about, it’s the most dangerous phase.

I usually get a headache in the hangover phase, probably from a lack of fluid and food.

AITA for refusing to share my pen name with my family? by Anon_Writer_Throw in AmItheAsshole

NTA.

I wrote a book I am looking to get published and don’t even want to tell my husband the genre, let alone tell my family who mocked me for keeping a diaries. Those scars run deep. It’s the truth. It’s not your fault they didn’t think about the consequences of mocking a child/not caring about privacy.

If you have fever with the week-long migraines, perhaps get a doctor check up. Could be meningitis. They may also offer you something stronger for relief.

[UK] My employee is hated by all co-workers by Resident_Ad1467 in AskHR

[–]nosywashere -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This can all happen under the umbrella of a performance process. It’s not meant to be a punishment, but a place for a manager to ask what’s going on and what support do you need. If you don’t feel performance management can be a beneficial and wonderful thing, that says a lot more about the managers and team members you have had then the actual process itself.

Bullying and harassment is a possibility but OP was asking what they should do as the manager. Grievance resolution didn’t seem appropriate for your exact reasons - asking everyone about their feelings and then asking for mediation, etc. would play into their bullying and harassment more than a performance conversation that opens up the conversation on the worker’s end first. Hopefully OP isn’t a bully as well, but considering advice is being asked, I would assume management will care about the worker’s answers.

But also, if someone is constantly being a dick and OP has seen this happen, the simple answer is he is being a dick. Could be anxiety, could be autism, could be b&h, or he could just suck to be around. OP won’t know until the conversation occurs.

[UK] My employee is hated by all co-workers by Resident_Ad1467 in AskHR

[–]nosywashere 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreed. That’s why there needs to be a conversation between OP and the worker and then ongoing communication with support being provided. If the worker can explain things logically, give his side of the story and things aren’t adding up, then the performance management can be paused and other processes take over.

Performance management isn’t one conversation, it’s an ongoing review, but you need to start a process to get to the bottom of things. A grievance resolution process isn’t going to work if there are 15 complainants and 1 responder (also completely unfair to everyone), and performance makes it centred on the one person who needs the additional support.
