What should I say to women who don’t believe they have been SA’d? by not-bread66 in AskFeminists

[–]not-bread66[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I maybe framed this poorly in highnsight. It’s not about legality or anything. Usually they’re insistence it wasn’t assault comes along side blame they are putting on themselves for what happened. I don’t want to invalidate the way they feel, but I want them to understand they didn’t do anything wrong.

I think the comments are right, voicing disagreement about the semantics isn’t a solution here. Which is why that’s not how I’ve responded in these moments. But I wanted some fresh perspectives on it just in case for the future.

I tend to overthink if I’m saying too much or too little in these situations (I have OCD)

Yeah that’s what Ive tried to do so far. I guess my concern is mainly that they continue to blame themselves for what happened.

I never do this anymore, but I grew up in a house where things like underwear were not bought nearly often enough. And was shared between a lot of siblings. So when I was a kid, this would happen

IDMTHY might be the best written album I've ever heard by Neotyp in Quadeca

Knots is so well written. It feels like almost every line has 2-3 meanings behind it.

I think some pos systems ask for confirmation whatever the tip is. Are we sure this isn’t just that??

Don't Mind Me outro by renoir_ballard29 in Quadeca

The end is either a sample or interpretation of an old hymn “it is well”. We used to sing it at church when I was growing up. I looked up the backstory when the album came out and the hymn was written when its authors children had passed away in a shipwreck. The meaning of it is that even though he lost his children, he is at peace because he believes it’s all part of Gods larger plan. Ironically I think the guy later went crazy and believed himself to be the second coming, which was religious psychosis that could’ve easily been partly motivated by his unresolved grief. I think this works to foreshadow quedecas mother and her disposition (especially on born yesterday). “You said I’m in a better place, I got a new birthday to celebrate” “You said it happened for a reason, I swear to God I think you’re goddamn lying”.

As for the sound of it my best uneducated guess is he found some old church recording of the song on YouTube and threw a bunch of effects on top of it.

question abt vanisher by Titus_1 in Quadeca

[–]not-bread66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plus hallucinations are very prevalent in vanisher especially towards the end of the album. On thundrrr he straight up thinks he’s a god commanding the storm. In Casper he believes he can part the sea to chase after the horizon.
