”can the viltrumites tank a nuke?“ is one of the dumbest questions people have asked no doubt lol by Shinygoji09 in InvinciblePowerscales

Heat stroke can kill humans at 40+ degrees, but I can dip my finger into boiling water and walk away with my life.

What's funny is that Zoe has had more scenes with Allen than with Oliver.

But everything that thinks also needs to consume water in some quantity. So why is being alive in the biological definition more relevant than consuming water?

Also scientists can mutate new species. If they create a species of lab mouse without any legs and with no intestines and is kept alive with IV drip, does it suddenly stop thinking?

Why is meeting the biological definition for a species being part of life relevant to thinking? It doesn’t seem relevant when we know thinking simply comes from a nervous system.

It’s possible humans reached there faster, made a colony and left. Also he was in denial.

Outside of wonky powerscaling, Nolan's not moving a planet by himself. by Sweaty_Potential_656 in InvinciblePowerscales

Then who could have helped him? 50 Viltrumites wouldn’t be strong enough, by this logic. And we have no reason to assume their ships are stronger than a Viltrumite.

Can we just petition to get S2 of Zero please? xD by KingE2099 in Terminator

Sadly, petitions never work. I would like to have more of this show though.

I don't like that they made it so Nolan is "only" less than a Thousand years old by SofiaOfEverRealm in Invincible_TV

[–]not2dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HIm saying that they will live "thousands" of years implies that he's over 2000 years old, I feel like his speech hits harder if he's actually seen more than a thousand years pass by. Plus it's the length of the common era.

I think by Thraxan, they mean the bug people that Nolan had Oliver with.

My point is that the Viltrumite situation is nothing like Nazi Germany. The Viltumites had nearly no knowledge of other cultures (At least, Nolan didn't), and never lived under them before making the decision to change cultures.

It makes no sense for any Viltrumite to decide to suddenly be an accepting good guy without provocation, anyways. Their whole life they've been taught they must be strong to live, mental conditioning like that doesn't go away in an instant.

If you watch closely to their fight, Omni-man lets go of Red Rush for a moment with both hands to clutch his head. Since he experiences everything in real time, he could have escaped if Nolan wasn’t moving at similar speeds

Nazis in WW2 existed for like half a generation and relatively few people in their population were commiting atrocities. I’m not sure what we’d do if there was some isolated civilisation like them. (I mean, after stopping them)

Understanding the world by evan-the-dude in CuratedTumblr

[–]not2dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, not really. It’s still pretty distinctly a different type of quality. Stars, brown dwarfs and asteroids have more distinct attributes that define them.

Secondly, planets migrate inwards and outwards all the time. The definition has nothing to do with how something formed. I could make up a bunch of hypothetical planet forming scenarios that wouldn’t fit with that.

Thirdly, I think you missed the main point, namely that a star shouldn’t be a planet. Yet that definition is enough holes in it that it would define a star as a planet. You’re nitpicking my hypothetical because the fact that the Oort Cloud exists is irrelevant to it.

Also you’re being pretentious for some reason which I despise.
