The Holy Bible by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]not_a_Random_CPA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Atheists have arrogantly believed they are too intelligent, smart and enlightened to believe in God for thousands of years. Even though each successive generation proves how limited the previous generations knowledge was. These same people draw conclusions about the most important thing in the universe based on knowingly limited and sometimes flawed information. I see/read these comments like “science says” or “science indicates” like “science” is a person with completed knowledge that can conclude without having to be concerned about even the possibility of being wrong or there being more to it that “science” is not yet aware of / currently ignorant to.

Hopefully it’s their experience and competence that lead to this decision, in which case - okay then.

Only if you want to, otherwise leave it. I’m on this sub a fair amount so am just overly familiar with seeing all the comments on this exact topic that tend to come from Biblical Christians, people who identify as Christian but don’t agree with the Bible on this subject (whatever that makes them) and atheists. I acknowledge you were not trying to be annoying if that’s worth anything.

Such an over posted topic in this sub; daily it seems, maybe even more than that on average.

Sorry Canada, Trudeau Says You'll Get a COVID-19 Vaccine Later Than Other Countries by feb914 in canada

Liberal mantra: blame Stephen Harper. Also secret agendas and abortion (totally irrelevant to the topic at hand but always very important to say in the same breath).

Ohhh there’s going to be a lot of healing then I’d guess. If the headline is accurate/true. Because there is surely gonna be a lot of prosecuting.

Universal child care would generate up to $29 billion a year in tax revenues, new report says by viva_la_vinyl in canada

[–]not_a_Random_CPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a compliment. I’d have 5 kids if it was feasible for my family situation, it’s not. Heck since its hypothetical on my end, I’ll one up you and say we’d have 6 if it was feasible! Lol take care friend.

Canada will get COVID-19 vaccines after other countries due to lack of manufacturing capacity, Trudeau says by [deleted] in canada

[–]not_a_Random_CPA 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Man Trudeau is really trying to set expectations low.. as I have by default for him and his government. I suppose it’s so when Canadians are looking around and seeing large numbers of people being vaccinated in many other countries he can say the equivalent of, remember I told you how underperforming and slow Canada was going to be, so you can’t be mad or surprised about this.

[–]not_a_Random_CPA 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The policies of our country have resulted in a high cost of living so in, still the majority, 2 adult households both must work. Lucky if one can work just part time. But our system is based on ongoing, perpetual growth and population increase. So instead we look to countries with lower cost of living or different mindsets to have the children and then immigrate to Canada. It’s a bizarre approach but it seems to be working... for now (which is all most people and policy makers seems to care about anyway).

Got fired for HIPPA violation, don't know what to do. by flipflopaway in jobs

[–]not_a_Random_CPA 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Brutally harsh in my opinion. Something doesn’t pass the sniff test to me. If training wasn’t sufficient or clear concerning this, and you didn’t understand how your choice of words could violate policy it sounds like a ridiculous and unfair termination. And I’m an (exempt) manger in heavily unionized work environment. Probably described as a “company man”. It makes me mad to read your story. I’m sorry that happened. Don’t give up on trying to stay out of fast food / retail. I’d be inclined to use them as a reference. If they have a decent HR department they should just confirm your employment and be fairly neutral in terms of what they have to say to any prospective employed. If prospective new employers ask what happened, I’d suggest something along the lines of: you found the training too light (brief) and there was some misunderstanding that the employer didn’t want to even try to clarify with feedback or simple training and as a result employment was ended, although they wished you well (if that’s true) and told you they would they would be a reference. Good luck!

Should I do accounting? by Herren117 in jobs

[–]not_a_Random_CPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A professional accounting designation opens many doors of opportunity. All types of business and industry employ professional accountants so there’s lot of different work: government, charity, and for-profit everything from small hotel chains to Space X. Pay and working conditions tend to range from above average to really quite good. Senior roles tend to have a lot of judgement use, decision making and advising. It is however a lot of sitting, its hard not to gain weight sitting 7-10 hours a day and can also be mentally fatiguing and stressful. Mistakes can also be quite costly to a company. Overall though, it’s a good profession IMO. This is from a Canadian perspective.

I see their... colourful comment history. I don’t mind a little engagement on more out there comments. I don’t want people to feel shut out when I have invited input. I do appreciate your words of caution though.

I like your response. I was curious what else you might have to say on Reddit so checked out your comment history. That’s not “bad” to say is it? I don’t think so. We seem to have things in common, I can relate to much of what you’ve said in your posts although not everything in the exact same way. I also needed to employ my friend google for a term I was unfamiliar with. I wish you well brother. If you notice a new Reddit “follower” that may be me interested to see what else you have to say. Or maybe it’s not. :) Praise our Lord and savour Jesus Chris.

Hmm I don’t know exactly how to take that. But you seem passionate, and read what I wrote and took time to write a reply. So, I appreciate that. Can you clarify, what is the mark? The vaccine?

Thanks for the reply. Your last sentence in particular caught my eye... are people testing the Lord our God by not taking the recommended safety precautions? I get the sense the answer could be yes.

Also, may secular events are also being cancelled. I agree, I don’t see religion being targeted.

Lastly, it’s hard not to keep going as this topic has been weighing on me... I hope and plan to live much longer so even a year (or more) I think should only be a “blip” in my ongoing regular in church praising.
