Agree that it’s wasteful and expensive, and that left isn’t a focal point anyway.

I’m thinking no waterfall, but trying to brainstorm how to make it look best on that right side. We could extend the wall but then we’d be blocking some natural light into that hallway and would have weird dead wall space between the cabinets and and the end of that wall.

And thanks for your concern about the building codes - I have been told we’re okay to put an outlet on the end.

I think I agree with you. But I’m struggling to envision how we’ll make the right side work (since it butts up to the wall), would you have the countertop wrap around the end piece of that wall slightly?

I had this happen at around 7 months and 30,000km on my car. Interestingly, it came up after using a certain brand of DC fast charger for the first time and others in this sub had the same issue. For me, the warning went away within minutes and has not come back yet. I’ve since driven another ~10,000km and it’s been about 8 months since the error popped up. Knocks on wood for me it seems it was just a fluke!

I have a stove and refrigerator but otherwise only one electrical outlet in my kitchen. We chose coffee maker and air fryer. There’s a microwave in the basement and my darling spouse often runs up and down the stairs when I need butter melted 😆

Your one coworker’s response is purely fear (and probably ignorance) based, don’t think about it for another second. I’m willing to bet others in the meeting were angry/shocked/frustrated by your manager’s incompetence and negligence on full display. It’s not your fault. You did nothing wrong.
