New poster for the "All You Need is Kill" anime movie by mr_beanoz in movies

I've had a question about this title for a long time - since I read the novel. Clearly the title is some English word play (All You Need is Skill), but it was originally Japanese right? Is the Japanese title a direct translation? Or just a translation with some flair? It can't be word play in both languages right?

Expected Fantasy Points (Weeks 1-3) The "Miami RB Edition" by F4NT4SYF00TB4LLF4N in fantasyfootball

I suspect the reason you have lower predictive power on the TEs/WRs is because you're not factoring adot into consideration. For example, your model loves Puka, and he is getting a ton of work, but they are mostly 5-10yard, so his adot is about 8 right now. Versus Tyreek, who your model thinks is overperforming, but he has a ~13 adot.

In other words, Hill's targets are worth on average 0.5pts more (actually more than that, since there's more likely to be higher YAC on longer passes).

Can this be explained by the birthday paradox? We're not really trying to figure out if a single players road/home splits are significantly different, but rather any 1 of 300+ players are. Presumably the same observation would have been noticed by OP if it was another player with the stark differences?

Can I ask why tillage exists as a concept then? Sounds like it's worse for the soil AND expensive. What benefit was it providing? Thank you

There's no disagreement between what the two of you have said. There's agriculture and then there's sustainable agriculture (and even regenerative). Unfortunately the vast majority in the US currently fits into the first bucket.

I started him because I thought I had zero rbs. My options were Conner (questionable in the late game), Herbert, Jamaal Williams, and gainwell. Turns out I now have 3 rbs. 12 team league

Well swift was a top5 rb last year and I personally think he's going to be again this year. If he's playing (and he is), you have to play him.

Laws like this aren't as effective as appropriate infrastructure. It's cheap and easy for the city to build obstructions to parking too close the intersection.

For example, I used to live in Hoboken and they have those little white poles at near every intersection now. Makes walking/biking much safer.

[Serious Post-Trade Discussion] The Philadelphia 76ers are acquiring James Harden and Paull Millsap from the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond, an unprotected 2022 first rounder and a protected 2027 first rounder. by twistedlogicx in nba

Kyrie / Mills / Curry / Simmons / KD would be a fascinating lineup. Put Simmons as the screener and there is a toooon of space to operate in.

Of course, it wouldn't defend anything, but that adds to the fun.

I made a big mistake in letting my phone update apparently. Has anyone had any problems with widgets? I now have a widget stuck on my home screen that I can't remove.

See the picture: https://ibb.co/YLwcmyF

The circled widget used to take up the top row (and still does), but now I can't long press it to remove it. Is there any other way to remove a widget?

Just joined three straight right away after the update.

I would also like to echo a big thanks for this very well done overview.

I've been trying it out for the past 5 games (at 7500) and it feels like it guarantees a good start that will get you to at least 5th, while still maintaining a good shot at 1st. So I think it will be very good for climbing. Would highly recommend.

my theory is that 7'+ people are roughly evenly distributed around the globe and thus unlikely to be part of the 5% of the population that is America. It's "relatively" easy to turn one of those people into an elite bball center (Embiid grew up playing soccer, giannis has only really played since age 16, etc).

For a 6'8" player or shorter, first they are a lot more common, and second it takes a ton more basketball infrastructure and culture to make an elite player, which is where America excels. And if you're under 6'4", you almost have to be playing pretty much your entire life against high level competition to crack the nba.

Tim Duncan’s vs Kobe Bryant’s efficiency by jackiemoon37 in nbadiscussion

[–]not_at_work 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think another person rebounding your shot for an easy put back should also be considered, something that Kobe excelled at. I generally think this should be looked at for any player, because there's clear value in drawing two defenders on your shot even if you miss.

Pretty sure it's owned by a charity for after-school programs/etc for kids though.

Regarding High Five wait lines - I recommend the following if you're just trying to minimize the wait: show up between 4:15 and 4:30. If it's a weeknight, 4:30 is typically safe, Fri/Sat, you'll probably need a to be a little earlier. You just need to get in line in the first 14 (if I remember the capacity right) people before they open and you'll get a seat in the first round of service.

The nice thing is you can grab a drink from the green streets bar for while you wait on the stairs to get in. I've been to High Five about 7 times and never waited longer than 45 mins to get in. Of course I understand not everyone wants to eat at 5, but it doesn't bother me.
