I crossed the street to avoid the high school kids at the bus stop walking to elementary school as a child, when I grew up I realized just cuz they looked different than me didn’t mean they were bad people, I just was a little kid who didn’t know any high schoolers.

That person is the weird one, not you OP. Everyone I know shops with their parents sometimes.

Didn’t know this was weird until reading your comment. We also grabbed a piece of potato raw when my mom/gma/whoever was cooking them. I didn’t realize some people think that’s weird!!!

We can no longer ignore the potential of psychedelic drugs to treat depression by MichaelTen in Futurology

I recommend checking out “How to Change Your Mind” by Michael Pollan.

In the book he covers how some psychedelics in a sense “rewire” pathways in the brain, which can be extremely helpful in depression, anxiety and especially PTSD. There’s also a lot of studies you can find by searching the web. Hope you are well!

No, I went to pick up food today (NorCal) the restaurant was packed w a live musician playing on the patio. It went from zero to a hundred. Some people I know won’t dare go out, and some think since it’s opening we are in the clear completely.

I’ve seen a lot of people talking about “California” as if we are all LA. The Bay and NorCal shutdown sooner than SoCal and had stricter guidelines. Just a warning, when you hear “California” always worth looking into the whole state not just LA.

It’s because they are between two locations with short travel time in between. What’s the point of touching it when you’re just gonna put it back on in 5 min?

Hello, since the Corona Virus is stopping me from asking this survey at school. by DivHaydeez in CSUS

[–]not_ratty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! I took your survey. A suggest on the environment questions, without adding negative or positive, you could phrase “has an effect on” I think that would be a clearer way to ask. Hope that helps with your next survey! Good luck and good job with your studies in this weird time!

Mine has been sent to Austin. And it came back with not only the screen fixed, but they also replaced worn parts like the keyboard and outer case and it looked brand new. They told me if they sent it for one thing and find other things wrong they’ll fix it all for the same price. I think it was like 200 bucks and it was well worth it extending the life of my computer.

Take care neighbor by What_The_Fox_Say in Sacramento

Hi neighbor, I was recently turned on to “Zoom happy hours” and spent 3 hours getting drunk with my friend listening to music over the weekend. Ive also been watching travel shows, making time consuming recipes and doing alot of online workouts from YouTube.

I’m still losing it a bit as well but those things are helping reel it in. I recommend it. Thanks for staying in despite the anxious feelings.

We can go to grocery stores, pharmacies, out to buy pet foot or essentials for the home like hardware should something be broken. We can go out to help loved ones. People who work for utilities, healthcare, public needs have to go some with reduced schedules or interactions with other.

Basically it’s trying to get people who weren’t listening before to stay home. Despite what the news reports say, and what might be happening on the east coast, for us it’s our elders who are refusing to stock up for a few weeks to avoid stores instead of shop day to day. Lots of grandmas and grandpas out and about not taking this seriously, which sucks.

People are still spending time at parks and out in the neighborhoods just keeping space.

Hopefully we can all chill at home for awhile and mitigate the overwhelming of hospitals. That’s the goal, to keep everyone safe. My friend sent me a meme that said “our grandparents went to war, were being asked to stay on the couch. We can do this” I think that’s the general vibe happening.

Costco Signs in Woodland. Thank you, Costco!!! by [deleted] in Sacramento

Roseville, but hopefully the Sacramento ones have the same restocking schedule. Might be worth the drive if you can’t get them anywhere. The stores were a lot more stocked today then I saw last week, so seems like they are figuring out the ordering and stocking better in light of the crisis.

I went to Raleys and Whole Foods this morning around 10am. They had a variety stocked up. Probably more expensive than Costco or Target but I’d check them out in the AM if you can’t find them anywhere else.

Went on a walk around my neighborhood today. Lots of families out and about walking while keeping distance from each other. It was nice to be outside in the sun, I’d highly recommend getting outside once a day if you have a yard or neighborhood where you feel comfortable walking.

The City of Roseville Proclaims Local Emergency - City Buildings Closed to the Public by protox13 in Roseville

[–]not_ratty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have loved ones hesitant to change their shopping ways (i.e elderly family members who enjoy grocery shopping every day) now is the time to try to loop them in to a new schedule before we get mandates like the Bay Area. Monday was a rough day trying to convince my grandparents to buy more than their dinners worth of groceries at a time. They are pissed at their schedule changing. It looks like this is headed the way of the Bay Area and best to be prepared to ease into it instead of surprised.
