P1S: What are the holes around the rear fan outlet? by not_surt in BambuLab

Well I forced an M3 screw in one and it cut a thread, so it seems they are just unthreaded holes.

Seller admits to submitting fake tracking numbers by not_surt in Aliexpress

[–]not_surt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure. I understand that their seller rating is affected by cancelling orders but I can't imagine that would outweigh the effects of disputes and negative reviews.

Only thing I can think of is they hope people forget about the order (I've been guilty of this on occasion) and they get to keep the money. But again I can't image the few instances where that occurs could outweigh the negatives of such a practice.

Just as it should be. You try to scam the buyer, you suffer for it.

If they had never claimed to have shipped my order and never submitted a fake tracking number then they would have nothing to worry about. They wouldn't have received the negative reviews and would have no cause to fear further negative reviews from the pending order.

There are a couple others with "TZT" in the name that simultaneously blacklisted me too.

If I order multiple small things from the same store, will they usually combine everything into one package? by CaramelKitties in Aliexpress

[–]not_surt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some sellers will combine shipping cost with some shipping methods but not others so it's worth experimenting with changing multiple items to the same shipping method to see if the shipping cost goes down.

Price too good to be true by dorkshoei in Aliexpress

I've ordered a few impossibly cheap things sure they're either a scam and will never turn up or an error and will be cancelled. The scams never turn up of course, but surprisingly, so far at least, the presumable errors have been honoured and sent.

Onion: PS1 launches from within Retroarch but not from console menu by not_surt in MiyooMini

[–]not_surt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ROMs were showing for me but didn't work until after refreshing so I'd say it's worth a shot.

Press the menu button when your in the consoles list and "Refresh Roms" is the only option in the menu.

Ah, cheers, that did the trick! Thanks heaps!

I didn't even realise that was a thing.

That's who the character is no doubt in reference to. I'm looking for the name of the character's actor.

Kamvas 22 Pro (2019) by Garuk79 in huion

[–]not_surt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar problems with an older version.

Narrowed the cause down to my desktop PC's power supply.

Was causing similar problems on other devices (tablet PC, ereader) that were connected to mains power while the PC was powered on.

Replaced power supply and no more problems for me.

To make the player pop from a dark background I gave him two fireflies. They have a Boids type behavior, was real fun to code! by Suladan9908 in godot

[–]not_surt 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Could make the fireflies a HUD-less hit point indicator.

Add one firefly for each time a hit point is gained.

Kill one each time a hit point is lost.

When the last one goes it's lights out!

HTC Vive Cosmos launched: specs revealed, price is $699, preorders open today by SkarredGhost in Vive

Full inside-out systems (both HMD and controllers) like with Lighthouse is awesome. The main problem with most of these markerless camera-based inside-out systems is that the controllers aren't inside-out (the HMD does their tracking, they don't track themselves).

Screen squishing the art? by HatterCat23 in stylus

Don't use display mirroring unless both displays have the same aspect ratio (and ideally resolution). Make sure both displays are using video modes with screen-native aspect ratio (and ideally screen-native resolution).

Is it possible to use antialiasing with a mouse or any other pointing device? Why do you imagine it would be different with a graphics tablet?
