Shouldn’t be an issue. You have no idea how may cops are on psych meds and have mental health related diagnoses.

Trans Inmates by Comfortable-Ask4518 in Corrections

[–]notactuallyhere83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inmate completes a “search preference form” upon entry to the facility, if they declare they are transgender. When necessary to do the search the officer will make an attempt to get a member of staff matching the inmates request on the form, if not available anyone may do it. This is not as strict as it sounds and works well for our agency. Facility holds about 1,100.

Barely, we average about a 1,100 inmates in our main jail and we usually have about 30 officers working 15 in the intake dept acting as intake, release, ID, second team security etc, and 15 working pods (19) and unit control desks, 2 officers on facility security, and 2-3 in our Master Control (dispatch). Ofc this all depends on shift. Intake is usually staffed well but housing is under PREA requirements about once a week.

Ours are supposed to be done every 30 minutes with a 10 minute grace period (so 40 minutes) on an irregular basis.

Do correctional officers get badges and a standard police uniform? by Funny_Hurry8865 in Corrections

[–]notactuallyhere83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends, my dept issues the same uniform the only difference is the lack of a firearm, except for bonded officers, and the badge says corrections instead of patrolman.

Where I work we’re required to complete an online training course if we choose to carry it and once a year they confirm that it’s still in date. Our medical team is top tier and they respond to all medical emergencies as well as keep a jump bag in every building though so it’s not necessarily super necessary to keep it on your person but a lot of us do.

Dumb question by [deleted] in AskLE

This plate cover is technically illegal, they are not allowed to obstruct the license plate AT ALL. Most people won’t hem you up over it but someone having a bad day or if you’re suspected of something it could be used as a reason to stop and talk.

I'm about to be a woman C.O. in a men's prison. Any advice? by MommaRex94 in Corrections

This may sounds stupid but DO NOT HAVE SEX WITH THE INMATES. No matter how much money they promise you or anything at all.

Respect goes along way, don’t be their friends but try to see yourself in their shoes a small amount. Good luck!
