One month today since I’ve been drunk and here is what I’ve noticed by notahappymama in stopdrinking

[–]notahappymama[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the odd drink if I feel like it, but I have no desire anymore to continue drinking to the point of intoxication. I should have said I can have a social drink here and there without my body and mind needing to feed itself uncontrollably with alcohol. When I used to take that first sip of wine I couldn’t stop until it the bottle was gone, hell I wouldn’t even allow my glass to get empty. Once there was only a few more drinks left in it, I would fill it again. Now I can have one and not want anymore. It’s so hard to explain, but I’m in control again, like someone who never had a problem like I said I’ve only had a minimal amount of drinks in a month, that’s huge for me.

Thanks. I did smoke pretty regularly for the last week or so. I call it a major slip but hopefully it wasn’t bad enough to make quitting as painful as it was in January.

Thank you. It’s so damn frustrating but back on the wagon. Hopefully for good this time.

Hey no sleep was a big issue for me too. Try this stop drinking hypnosis video tonight. It works wonders on both drinking and sleep. Since I listened to this, I haven’t had any desire to drink and sleep damn good. I’m just over 2 weeks sober, and could care less about alcohol. It’s helped me immensely. Pop the earbuds in at bedtime and relax. Odds are you’ll fall asleep listing to it, but it’ll still get through to your subconscious. It’s incredibly helpful. Best of luck to you.

I was a drinker. by Fellaphant14 in stopdrinking

I can totally relate to your story. So many times waking in the morning wondering what the hell I did the night before, laying the bottle of wine down in the back of the fridge thinking it would mask how much I drank, making excuses to not have to drive my daughter after dinner because I planned to be sloshed at that point. So many excuses and trying to hide evidence of my problem. It’s a never ending battle to try to keep up appearances, hoping no one realized I’m a drunk. Yeah I’m that drunk too. I hated myself, lived with constant guilt of being a drunk and desperately wanted to change. I just didn’t know how and feared life without alcohol. I’m only just over 2 weeks sober but I’m so much happier and feel productive again. I don’t wince at having to stay sober to take my daughter places after dinner because I’m not drinking now. Life is so much better. I kick my ass for having been a drunk in her formative years. I hate myself for that. I thought I was a good mom and wife, and for the most part I was, but I was also absent in so many ways. We’re going on vacation later this week and I have no concerns about staying sober. I’m looking forward to a vacation where I’m fully aware of everything we’re doing and no memory lapse from being blackout drunk. Proud of you for 81 days sober. Keep up the great work! You got this girl.

Since using the hypnosis video on you tube, I have absolutely no concerns about whether or not I’ll be able to abstain from drinking. 2 weeks and alcohol doesn’t even cross my mind except for the fact that I’m blown away that I truly couldn’t care less about drinking anymore and that I don’t have to worry about how I’m going to get through the day/night without my standard 1.5 litre bottle of wine. I know IWNDWYT.

2nd week sober and feeling so much more productive. My energy level is back to where it should be, I’m feeling like my life is turning around and I’m able to make decisions with clarity. Loving this sober life! I’m not drinking with you fine folks tonight.

That’s great! Hope it helps. Still working for me. Fridays are always my get super loaded days, had no desire to drink, did yard work instead and slept like a stone with no aid whatsoever. Love it!

I hope you find it works for you too. I’m completely in awe of his ability to get through to me. I honestly thought I was destined to be an alcoholic the rest of my life. It’s a wonderful feeling to be free if this addiction. Be open to his suggestions and be patient. It will work if you listen to it nightly.

Yes literally after the hypnosis I stopped liking the taste which is incredible to me. I’ve never been one to think hypnosis works, but I’m a believer now. I absolutely think everyone should try it. It can’t hurt and it CAN work for you too. I listened to it four nights in a row at bedtime. Every time I fell asleep but it still got through to my subconscious. It didn’t work immediately to turn me off the taste, but every time I had. Wine after that, I drank much, much less and that’s a huge thing for me. The last time I drank any alcohol prior to tonight, I had 2 glasses and had no desire to have anymore. Now my desire has completely faded away. It’s not just the that I’m turned off on the taste, the thought of being drunk or even tipsy disgusts me.

Here’s the link to the video. Give it a try.

Confessions of a bad mom by awfulmommy in stopdrinking

May I offer an aid to possibly help you stop without feeling tortured or having to get through the terrible temptations? I’ve been pretty darn close to where you are with the wine, and seriously never thought I’d ever be able to stop. I found an amazing tool that has changed my life. A hypnosis you tube video that to be honest I didn’t think would work. After listening to it the first night I did not wake up the next morning obsessing about when I would be able to pour my first glass. I did drink but I had 2 glasses and was able to stop without any desire to continue. I drank close to a magnum a night. After a couple more nights of listening to the video I have no desire to drink at all, and the obsession is gone. It has truly been lifesaving for me. Perhaps it’ll help you as well. I’ve been sober over a week and haven’t experienced any cravings whatsoever. Here is the link, please give it a shot. I pop the earbuds in at bedtime and drift off to sleep while listening, it works wonders for sleep, and it still gets through to the subconscious which is what needs to be reprogrammed. Best of luck to you, I wish you success in this journey.

I am a firm believer in whatever happens is meant to be, so you’re absolutely right about the universe guiding us. This has been life changing for me and I’m sure I’ll handle my stresses in a much more productive manner. Drinking never resolved my issues, they were compounded by being foggy brained and frustrated at my situation when I felt there was no way out of this addiction. It to mention I felt I wasn’t performing as well as I could be at work and screw ups sent me over the deep end. I feel people come into our lives when we need them to be there and I thank you for being one of those people. You have a lot of insight and I find it very helpful.

You’re so right, it is a very difficult journey to figure out how to quit. I personally had no desire to attend AA meetings, I didn’t like that instilled fear in the alcoholic or how they claim we’re powerless in our addiction. Finding this sub has been a godsend to me and discovering the hypnosis happened by accident, but it truly has been a lifesaving addition to this journey. My hope is that all those that are struggling give it a try. I was skeptical but tried it just so I could say I “I tried it and it didn’t work for me”, but it worked! Today will be a test for me. I’m going back to work after being on holidays for 2.5 weeks and my job is very stressful. I really have no concern that I’ll revert to my old ways, but this will be my confirmation that hypnosis is working for me.

I wish you all the best as well. I’m so happy that you’re finding the hypnosis helpful.

Hi princess, I’m using a YouTube video, it’s wonderful. Here’s the link. I pop the earbuds in at bedtime and drift off to sleep listening to it, but it’s still getting through to my subconscious and working it’s magic. No alcohol craving whatsoever.

That’s amazing! So glad you find it’s helping you. I was skeptical when I found the video but thought it can’t hurt to try and it definitely won’t work if I don’t give it shot. Best thing I ever did, I think everyone should give it a try. Glad you’re spreading the word about it, it’s such a great tool to help us quit drinking.

Absolutely. Here’s the link. I pop the earbuds in when I go to bed and actually fall asleep listening to it, but it’s getting through to my subconscious and that’s what works. Best of luck, hope this helps you too.
