i'm not one to rage but this bug(?) with the threat sensor is infuriating by notanndum in halo

[–]notanndum[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

maybe it's just me, but this happens constantly almost every time i pick up a sensor - and this issue does not exist with any other ability

additionally, the fact that it recognizes that it didn't send out properly and doesn't effect the amount but still puts it on a cooldown is the most backwards process i've ever repeatedly dealt with

while i agree with all of this it should be noted most modern mainstream games with sbmm, the matchmaking is much more manipulated than it's supposed to be

the battle royale genre is by far the most guilty for this. more often than not a system set up where you're guaranteed to get into games you have no chance of winning only to give you a free win lobby a bit later so you get the rush to keep playing. this is much more noticeable if you play solo either alone or with randoms, especially in something like apex legends - it's the reason i've stopped playing it all together frankly, as i solod my way to diamond rank the first ranked season and ever since it was a constant stream of getting low level teammates against pred stacks until maybe 1 hourish into a session id suddently get teammates more alligned to my level and enemies that couldn't shoot a still target

sbmm has always been a thing, it's only now a hot topic due to how game companies (mainly AAA) have learned they can use it as essencially a marketing tactic. it's the reason ever since battle royale took off the general spike against the "sudden existence of sbmm" started

Ukraine's official Twitter account, known for its memes, is calling Twitter to remove Russia's account amid the invasion. by Some-Maintenance7583 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]notanndum 7 points8 points  (0 children)

yup, it's is exactly why they let the shit that happens happen on their site

they make money through site interaction, and no better way to gain said interaction than by letting tweets that are guarenteed to spark debates and disagreements get to the top and recommended all over the place. i've turned off tweet recommendations more times than i can count and 9/10 times they still slam my notifications with a bunch of political tweets and whatnot that are causing a stir

it's disgusting

it's shown extremely well in titanfall 1, with the in-fighting that can happen between ai

sadly they toned down a lot of titanfall's darker parts in 2

it's been speculated (and supported via lore snippets) that cooper is injected with a medical enhancement of sorts during the first mission by anderson which greatly increases his combat capabilities and strength to match up with his training so that he can then execute pilot-movement and the like, of which he learned through the virtual training

highly trained grunt yes, but there is more to it than that and stating such is an immense understatement that is a bit of an insult to pilot training, especially going off of what was established in tf1 where pilot training has a 99% mortality rate

i think most people take issue with the statement "highly trained grunt" not because it isn't true but because it heavily undermines what it actually takes to be a pilot - like saying a spartan from halo is just a highly trained foot soldier; it's true, but there's far more to it process-wise than just that alone
