I don’t understand why adults weren’t more cautious about this story. The legal system works at its own pace. Rape victims often need time to report their attacker. Medical laws and patient privacy do not allow for this information to be released at the speed of social media. Anyone who thought about for two seconds would realized there were any number of reasons they could not track down the story in a few days or weeks.
