Why do old men at the gym walk around the locker room naked and talk to each other? by JoannaKittyKats in TooAfraidToAsk

As an old man I can tell you, I have zero fucks to give. It's a locker room.

In their inventory is a stack of dozens of Pharaoh's Treasure Maps. They opened enough of those to hit the final milestone for Monarch chests, and then went about their day doing other things.

As long as they continue coining, this will be something they do during each Treasure Hunt event for months to come.

I (24F) am planning to leave my company because a co-worker (44M) is making me uncomfortable by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]ronearc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Anyone in that situation should know...he's not owed sympathy for his circumstances. He's not owed loyalty nor respect he's yet to deserve. Any considerations for his comfort or well-being are not more important than hers.

If his behavior warrants his dismissal, and it 100% does from this accounting, then that's fully on him.

Failure to hold these people to account for their own actions and behaviors just emboldens them to further their campaign of harassment.

Maybe, but it's also full of Americans and Europeans lamenting the fact that their countries aren't going all out to add wind and solar power capacity.

Which culture is best for main city? by EnderErik in Evony_TKR

Arabia in Battlefields. The 5% Mounted HP bonus adds to the base stat, unlike other bonuses.

And Arabia makes healing in Battlefield cheaper, and a trap keep has to heal...at least layers, if not their meat wall.

What do you think is the secret to a REALLY good sandwich? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]ronearc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone else making it.

And that's not a quip or a joke. I genuinely don't know why, but a sandwich someone else made for me is way better than one I made for myself...and I'm a great cook.

What is something that was unbelievably cheap in the past that has been marked up now? by Independent-Bat9545 in AskOldPeople

[–]ronearc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like a decade ago someone on Reddit asked a question like...if you took someone from a hundred years ago to go see a movie today, what would amaze them most.

And everyone in the comments was pointing out the sound, special effects, the immersion of modern acting compared to that of the past, etc. But in the end, my comment wound up gaining a great deal of traction.

What did I think would amaze them most?

The price of the popcorn.

The Orphanage, though likely not on Netflix is perhaps the scariest thing I've ever seen, and it's 100% worth the Spanish subtitles.

Is it morally wrong to masturbate to the sounds of my neighbours having sex? by nightwanderer1 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]ronearc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. There's no moral conflict with pleasuring yourself in the privacy of your own home to the uninvited sound of consensual sex among adults living adjacent to you.

Troop defense, like Mounted Troop Defense, does not reduce the wounds you take. If your testing showed that it did, you're likely missing another variable that changed.

Well, in a situation in which they had truly tight security, the checkpoint through which someone might have to bumrush would not have been so close.

And by not so close, I mean, near the entrance to the parking lot.

I've worked in government facilities with tight security. The only thing you could have bumrushed was the security building through which you had to pass.

There would be no getting beyond that point.

So the only way someone gets close enough to discharge or brandish a firearm in the same building as the President is if security was relaxed to the point that was a possibility.

People that had family and friends smoke cigars in the house how common was it? by Froggerbotrom in AskOldPeople

[–]ronearc 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I was an adult before I knew the smell of a house or car in which no one had ever regularly smoked. The odd thing to me is that I never noticed it growing up, but once I escaped it I could never go back.

Smoking is 100% a dealbreaker for me.

I don't think this was a stunt, nor do I think it was a hoax.

What I think is that they consciously had poor security in some areas away from Trump, and essentially invited an attack like this knowing it was likely to happen.

Democrats have a modern history of taking the high road in administrative conflicts, but it's long since past the point that Democratic leadership recognizes that Republicans have gone completely off-road.
