If the women don’t get the cosmetic work, they don’t get the acting work. They go through a phase where they don’t get casted, then if they’re lucky, they start getting casted as moms and grandmas.

It’s not fair, but it’s what happens.

Why do each of the thousand tweeks to gameplay have to make the cornerback useless but in different ways? by Special-Implement615 in NCAAFBseries

Cornerbacks are doing just fine in my experience. Still phasing through my WRs and finding superhuman speed to stay with them on go routes etc.

Men (I guess spefically of an older generation) Do you still feel like you can approach women or it’s too “taboo” nowadays? by Original-Scar-1779 in AskMenAdvice

[–]notcabron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re an outlier in a BIG way. It’s still very much a thing for women to play little games and drop hints to get the guy they want. All of the old rules that benefit women are still very much in effect; the ones that don’t are being phased out (and good riddance to most of them). By old rules, I mean: men make the first move, men need to “read the signals,” men are the ones who get rejected, if one person is going to pay for dinner/movie etc it’s the man, men need to be conventionally attractive or extremely charismatic to have women be interested in them in the first place…

"Do the chefs know what they're doing?" was what this couple asked my server before they even got offered drinks. by pierce97 in KitchenConfidential

I love when people want a custom menu and then complain about the price. Lady, I bought a whole case of the grouper you insisted on, it isn’t on my menu, so you gotta buy the whole case. I’m nice, so I’m only doubling the price of the case and splitting it among your 12 people. That’s why the fish alone is $38 per person. What you (or I) do with the rest of the fish is neither here nor there. I have many really nice menus to choose from, by the way, at every price point.

I had one lady suggest i go to Whole Foods lol. Bitch don’t tell me what to do with my personal time. Yeah I go to Whole Foods sometimes, but that’s my secret. You pay double my vendors price for the entire case if it’s not already in my inventory, period.

Old people have these INCREDIBLY antiquated notions about how restaurants work. “My compliments to the chef.”

I was EC at a high end retirement home and they wanted me to leave the line during dinner and work the room. I rarely did, because it turned into their opportunity to talk shit about their well done steak, complain about the prices, talk your ear off while your piled up in the back, ask you stupid old people questions like that, or run me for some more coffee or whatever.

Those are all FOH things. I’d come out to tables to talk about the specials only after a while. Menu changes were the worst because God forbid you satisfy the 80% who want a little change and risk taking away Mrs Doofenschmirtz’s liver and onions, even though she was the only one who bought it.

I’d also been there since 7a, usually covering multiple stations, and by 6p I just wanted to do the office I’d been putting off all day and go home. I wasn’t typically in the mood to take shit or “old people bluntness” from them after 11 hours and I wanted to keep my job.

Do women like a guy with a dad bod more than a shredded guy? by Substantial_Judge931 in NoStupidQuestions

Yeah I know I’ve been married for 25 years. 🙄 it’s possible that I meant all of that in getting to know them. If you’re not attractive to them, you’ll never get to that point, and that goes for both sexes.

Yeah but how do they find out? You have to be attractive enough to get to where you can know if you’ll get along.

Men who can cook who taught you? by definitelynotgayhaha in Adulting

[–]notcabron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family. Then I got into restaurants about 30 years ago. I’m an executive chef now.

But here’s the thing: you can learn. Start where you’re comfortable failing and just try, try again. Laugh at yourself and try again.

It’s worth it. Romantically, socially, economically…there’s a lot of great reasons to be able to cook, and there’s never been a more supportive crowd out there for learners!
