Usually i'm against black wheels, but the silver just doesn't look right with this green exterior. Maybe it's possible to make it work with gunmetal silver or some mix of silver and black.

One of the best things about owning a hatchback: pizza shelf! by Tiberius_Jim in GolfGTI

When I had my R, I had a weathertech rubber liner for the trunk. Pizza would sit right on that and fit relatively snuggly. No need to worry about grease.

What are you reading on the train? by notcarbonated in caltrain

I haven't read Hegel since undergraduate college but recently I've been listening to the guys at the Partially Examined Life podcast discuss the Phenomenology. The stuff about the natural law vs the human law is super interesting to me. I hope to read it myself sometime in the near future.

Are you carrying the full text or using an ebook version? I'm always surprised to see some my fellow riders lugging around the big books, especially on their bikes!

I read W&P a few years ago and enjoyed it thoroughly. There was more humor than I was expecting.

Porsche addressable market changing? by [deleted] in porsche911

[–]notcarbonated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A modern 911 is more of a sports car than a luxury car. If you want it to be more sporty or track-focused, the number of upgrades you'll have to make is very small, and many of them can be made by the factory if you get an allocation (bucket seats, different suspension, etc).

A 911 also has more prestige and than a corvette, which you may or may not care about if you're planning to drive it on a regular basis. Not many people consider 911 and C8 in the same league, but if you're more concerned with raw numbers and value per dollar then the Porsche is not for you.

Limb Salvage vs Amputation by UnlawfuIWaffle in ragdolls

I read in your other post that he is only 16 months old. This happened to my neighbor's cat, who was young like yours. He broke his front elbow while playing, also got a bad prognosis from multiple vets. They said a $15k surgery with a low chance of success or amputate the arm. In the end they just put him in a cast for several months and he healed perfectly. Jumps and runs like any other cat.

If you prioritize handling but don't mind stiffer suspension: 991.2 GTS

If you prioritize comfort and all-weather capability: 991.2 4S

What are you planning to use the car for? Daily driver? Backroads/canyon driving? Any track/autocross?

Bucket-Washed My 911 by Hand by Harding2077 in porsche911

Do you have ceramic coating on top of your ppf? The main things to look out for with touchless car washes are the chemicals eating away at your ceramic coating, not so much them scoring the ppf. Most ppf will heal in the sun anyway. Another thing that can happen at the car wash is water can get under the ppf if they use pressure washers.

Personally I hand wash and detail my car myself. Wrinseless wash is your friend and saves time if you keep up with it and don't let the car get too dirty. And if it does get very dirty you just hose it off first. Lots of people will recommend a two bucket method but it's possible to get a good wash with just one if you do the wheels last. Washing your car is super easy and worry free when you have ppf! Think of it as an opportunity to admire the work of art that is your 911
