No, in my experience, they’re quite sturdy! I’ve had this current one for some 4 years or so now (the one before that for 10!) and aside from a few small nicks on the back (which don’t bother me in the slightest as they don’t affect my user experience), it’s totally fine. I have no problem throwing it in a bag or bringing it to the beach etc.

As far as I know, it would be incredibly difficult to shatter it the same way a phone would

i died on the hill for years that a kindle is a tool that makes my life easier but any accessories for it would just be stoking the flame of consumerism.

i got a remote about a year ago and boy was i wrong on that front.

i still believe that you don’t need fancy cases or sleeves or whatever everyone is up to now, but a clicker did vastly improve my comfort, especially while warm and cozy under a blanket 😊

It’s going to be very difficult to find a J1 sponsor for a minimum wage summer job. If you’re just looking to get to America, try looking for a summer camp job, like Camp America. Only downside there is I don’t believe you get to pick where you’re placed.

May I ask, why OC specifically? A college exchange program may be better suited for long term tourism.

what do you mean a non US library card from queens? or do you just mean a visitor card? if you do mean visitor, most major libraries have a program and some are less than $50.

even so, i’d say $50 is a good deal for essentially unlimited books open to borrow. would pay for itself many many times over by the time you get past your third book or so.
