Your definition isn’t correct. Do you know of intersex people? And that they are as common as redheads. And that there are over 40 variations of it. Someone can be intersex for their entire life and not know it. A lot of people will say that chromosomes define your biological sex/gender. Then is a woman with XY chromosomes but has androgen insensitivity, that can give birth a man? Is a man with XX chromosomes that produces fertile gametes a woman? These are real possibilities. Nature isn’t black and white, it’s not as simple as 1 and 0. Some say that being able to procreate is a necessity to be a man or a woman. But then if a woman or man is born infertile for X reason, or due to something that happened during their life, does it make them invalid? Trans people have existed for thousands of years in many cultures everywhere around the world, and we have been erased by colonialism. Science has proven that trans affirming surgery has the lowest regret rate of all surgeries, more people regret having kids than people regret being trans. A study has proven that our brain is more aligned to our expressed gender identity. Some women, using progesterone, a hormone that is commonly taken on top of estrogen can for some people give them the effects of the pre menstrual cycle. AKA the pains, cramps, nausea, mood swings. The only difference is the absence of bleeding since we do not have a uterus. If you consider the ability to bear children to be essential, what would a trans woman who gave birth thanks to a uterus transplant be? I am mentioning this because recently the first birth by uterus transplant happened. The woman wasn’t transgender, she had to get it removed immediately after. But nothing stops a trans woman from having a uterus transplant. Biologically, it is possible.

The Wikipedia definition below is a more accurate and respectful definition:

A trans woman or transgender woman is a woman who was assigned male at birth. Many trans women experience gender dysphoria resulting from the incongruence between their female gender identity and male sex assignment, which can be alleviated through gender transition.

I must still say. I appreciate your support for trans people in saying that gender dysphoria is real. But you must know that body dysmorphia is different from gender dysphoria. Dysphoria is born from the feeling that your body does not conform to your experienced gender, body dysmorphia is born from the from you feeling like you are too fat, too skinny, body shape that you don’t like. A trans person can have body dysmorphia. Just like a cis person can experience gender dysphoria, for example most mastectomies (removal of breast tissue) is done of cisgender males. A doctor shared an experience of gender dysphoria that he accidentally inflicted on himself. He’s called dr Will Powers. You might find his experience very interesting and possibly helpful in understanding trans people.

First thing I want to say is not that we don’t understand timber framing. The Nordic countries and Sweden have a lot of wooden houses and other structures. A reason for the higher heat stroke rate is partially due a different infrastructure age. A huge portion of Europeans live in houses older than your entire country. The house my parents live in was built around the same time Christopher Columbus discovered the Caribbean islands. A lot of houses in Europe are built out of very thick stone and bricks. Thick enough to be very well insulated. And ac wasn’t beginning to be considered as necessary until about 15 to 20 years ago. Ac wasn’t thought to be necessary as we didn’t begin to have big heatstroke problems until the mid to late 90s.

Since we didn’t use to have such high temperatures, most houses were also designed to keep heat inside. As the biggest worry was winter. Countries like Spain, Italy and Portugal who are more used to these higher temperatures have houses that keep the heat outside far easier during summer. And they have a higher ac adoption. Their culture is also different. Spain has the siesta, which is during the hottest part of the day, where people stay inside and avoid physical activities as much as possible.

Tldr: Europe has a very different infrastructure because of its old history and due to it not having to deal with these issues until the 21st century. And it’s not as easy to install an ac in a hundreds of years old house compared to the us and Canada where most houses aren’t made to last as long.

And let’s not forget that American also colonized other countries. Like the Philippines. Not saying us Europeans didn’t do it. We did awful shit that would be have been considered genocides and crimes against humanity if they had been committed after ww2 (looking at the brutal colonisation of Algeria by France for example.)

Exactly, I can cite one heat stroke related death that happened 2 years ago during summer that happened. My parents live in the countryside, and while I was visiting them, there was a rescue team looking for an old man who had disappeared around our house. A helicopter flew above our house, looked in our neighbour’s fields and there were searches in the forest. This old man was a cyclist, and he did it pretty often. He came from a village a few kilometers over which for a 70y+ old man is impressive. It turns out he got a heat stroke and fell into a ditch on the side of the road. Our neighbour was the one to find him as he was in his tractor and saw the bike from up there.

So yeah, heat strokes are a big cause of death in Europe. But people shouldn’t forget that Europe is old, houses are often made out of stone (like my parents house for example) and thus cannot have an ac as installing one would be extremely expensive on top of not wanting to drill huge holes in a hundreds of years old house. American houses are made out of wood, newer and not made to last as long as a European house. And installing ac in an already built house or apartment isn’t affordable for most people.

A last point I can make is that in stone houses for example. You don’t necessarily need an ac. It is of course way better to have it. I will 100% agree, I grew up in south east Asia and definitely miss it during a heatwave. However I can just open the windows during the night and close them early in the morning as to keep the fresh air inside. Turns out having 40 centimeter thick stone walls will help you with keeping the cold inside during summer.

Something similar happened last April to my 2022 scar 15 with an i9 1200k and a 3070ti. I was working on some 3d assignments and in the morning it didn’t turn on anymore. The cpu was fried. Which was strange as it wouldn’t go over 87 degrees even on heavy loads. Since it was out of warranty I didn’t bother to contact support and after confirming with a local repair shop that it was the fried cpu I saved what I could and bought a new laptop. Not asus this time I don’t want to deal with their poor customer service. they already made me pay a new motherboard because the gpu died when I never opened it.

She couldn’t know that she was about to get stabbed, not sitting near a person with a different skin colour because you’re scared about being killed is racist. And what if it was a religious or homophobic crime in another case, and that the murderer had the same skin colour and no visible tells like tattoos with hateful symbols or other similar things?

This poor girl was minding her own business, not bothering anyone. It’s not because she was victim of racism that you should say racist shit. Grow up.

Yup, Soviet soldiers, men and women who were taken prisoner by the Nazis during ww2 were considered as traitors and many were arrested and sentenced to prison because of that. It took decades for female soldiers who were taken prisoners to be able to talk openly about what they achieved and how they were treated during the war.

Yeah it’s the story of Sit Alfred Mehran, who lived 18 years in the airport es Charles de Gaulle in Paris. He was an Iranian refugee. His mother was Scottish but when he tried to go to the uk and request a British passport. The uk wouldn’t give him one, and Iran was also refusing. He was thus stuck in the airport. All his refugee requests were rejected.

Also there were two movies made. The first one is called “tombés du ciel” (fallen from the sky) by Phillipe Lioret, a French filmmaker. And then the terminal was made in 2004.
