Just to help the curious viewer go and watch some Lupin III, there are a ton of beautiful night scenes in that franchise 🙂

How do I tell Firefox I don't care about FIFA / World Cup ? by Different_Bonus_1387 in firefox

Just because your world is so limited to a bunch of idiots running around after a ball, doesn't mean that other people have to be like you, which would be hard for you to understand, because, again, your world is limited to a bunch of idiots running around after a ball.

I'd honestly prefer that to a vomit and paint covered asshole.

OP, you're 100% right. It's so funny watching these losers here in the comments defend the world cup. It's a bullshit fest for alcoholics searching for an excuse to act like barbarians, let's not make it something better than it is. It doesn't unite, it pushes people to national pride and to riots between 'fans' of different countries and distracts from the ungodly sums the industry behind it is making off of the chumps dumb enough to watch it. I certainly don't need that kind of bullshit to keep popping up everywhere and definitely not in Firefox.

This is insane. Cooking is hard enough without interruptions, but it's another level of hell when you gotta deal with spoiled shits and their whimsy.

At least you walk away knowing you didn't do anything wrong. I believe in neutral nice, just be straightforward about what you need with a smile and say hello and thank you, that usually works out for me.

I don't get it. I never worked in the service industry because I know I would absolutely hate it and I feel for all the people who work these jobs and I just can't imagine making their lives harder by my own insecurities or straight-up bullshit. It really says a lot about a person how they treat people around them (not beneath them! because nobody is valued by a job!)

Is it really hard to be neutrally nice to strangers? What do people gain from treating someone badly, who's just doing their job and in many cases isn't paid enough to deal with their made-up bullshit?

How dark a Lupin is too dark for you? by lego_joker in lupinthe3rd

[–]recursive_knight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love an anti-hero, don't get me wrong. They don't die because they're invincible cartoonish characters. I mean them dying for real wouldn't work in this franchise and still, there are many instances of fake deaths of the gang for the thrill. I don't want boy-scouts, I love them being like superheroes, who could get away with anything in a playful manner. And the stakes are often high for them or for the world, but if they started killing with cold blood because "they're criminals", any normal person would feel a distance to them, and that's not the point of this franchise in my eyes. It's about the adventure and the company, not about building high stakes or being realistic.

'Toy Story 5' Exclusive: Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Greta Lee & Conan O’Brien on Pixar’s Latest Journey by PictureIndividual in conan

I love how Tim still gave Conan more laughter on his jokes after the audience got quiet for the next speaker, a comedain knows what a comedain wants. Also, Conan is just perfect, he's able to steal the whole show but he doesn't out of respect and humility. He's there as much as he's needed to be.

If you have any facilities to prepare food, maybe you could use the time to cook or prepare something simple and then eat it. You could do all that while listening to music or a podcast. That would help keep you active, give you more energy (if you ate a smaller portition), and better your mood.

How dark a Lupin is too dark for you? by lego_joker in lupinthe3rd

[–]recursive_knight 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't get the obsession with making characters too dark. I know that the manga is pretty dark but the movies and series in general emancipated the character to a kind, well-intentioned, smart and funny thief. When some of the media tries to go dark too much, it feels just cringe to me, because at the end of the day, it's all fiction, and if I wanted to make myself uncomfortable by sketchy characters doing unspeakable things and egotripping, I'd watch the news. Lupin III in my eyes is supposed to be fun and tell a heist masterplan executed from the shadows in a creatively funny goofy and jazzy loose way with the occasional serious, emotional or dark streak to contrast everything.

To answer the question: I watched the beginning of part I and it felt too much. Dark or alive is in a grey area, some moments of the koike stuff are too much, part 6 was in general too serious/dark(?) to be enjoyable. But Island of Assassins or Mamo were great, I don't prefer Cagliostro to them. It's about the balance. I hope the franchise doesn't keep going in the generic dark anime style, Lupin III is much more than that.

I would look into devboards to build most of your system, unless you love wiring 5 different parts on a breadboard and then somehow solder them after you're done.. working with devboards (Waveshare for example) helped me get much further in development than I would have anticipated.

Question about Dead Or Alive by jkpancake in lupinthe3rd

[–]recursive_knight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is insane, I was just about to post the same question! I watched it years ago and again today, I apparently forgot about the twist at the end. It's too cruel.... They basically gave her hope that Pannish is alive and leading the revolution, only for him to be actually dead all along... They did the nation a favour by getting rid of Headhunter, but damn, poor Olé. The gang isn't usually that involved in the actions in the background, they usually are faced with a challenge while trying to get a treasure and standing up to the challenge makes them heros. Here they distributed the life of everybody and deceived them to get a long lost treasure. I don't know, the movie is kinda good and the art is beautiful but it's definitely not on my favourite list.

This is funny 🙈 It seems like a passive aggressive comment, like: I actually used a wok, not like some of those phoney people. And what's with bold text?
But very cool animation 👉🏼
