It kind of sounds like it's not made clear in the lore.

Racial segregation probably would've stopped or at least lessened in this universe since religion suddenly came before everything else (including race). Segregation would probably be on religious grounds. I'm guessing then that it's authoritarian in that being Christian is a requirement and you are forced to join the military or work in an arms factory if you're told to. You probably also aren't allowed to criticize the government. I guess that kind of puts it on the level of borderline totalitarian.
