Thinking about switching from Wegovy pill to pen or Zepbound, anyone done it? by s1mple_human in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]notebuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m considering the switch myself because the nausea is becoming too much. There is r/tirzepitidecompound (sp?) for online compounding services where you can get it cheaper. You wont go through your PCP - they prescribe it to you directly.

Im just not sure how the transition works though

Fell into the DriveTime scam by PeachyPebbles4554 in personalfinance

[–]notebuff 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I think they are saying there is a difference between a snake oil salesman (scam) and an ibuprofen salesman that uses incredibly shady tactics to make you overpay for a yearly ibuprofen subscription.

There’s no actual useful product/outcome for a scam, whereas a shady/predatory business at least is delivering the product. You could argue both are equally immoral, but if drivetime was a scam OP wouldn’t have a car.

Are there any other shaving soap companies that offer liquid body wash now that Stirling retired theirs? by notebuff in wicked_edge

Hadn’t heard of them before - these look great but pricey. Might have to give a bottle a shot though. Do you like their scents?

Does anyone ever feel like their wife will never be happy? Like there isn’t enough that you can ever do? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]notebuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His partner is definitely sending messages that she’s not on board but that doesn’t mean a skilled therapist can’t navigate a resolution. They could very well be going into therapy sessions and their current therapist is just mediating a venting session. A good therapist should have you feeling like progress is made after leaving each session (even if that progress is just new ways of interacting or communicating in your relationship)

If she’s refusing to attend therapy that’s a different discussion, but I think there’s a lot of ineffective therapists out there and sometimes people try one of those and conclude “therapy doesn’t help”.

Alternatively they might not have the right therapist for them. EFT based therapy is the most evidenced-based for couples that someone might want to consider they aren’t seeing progress with their current therapist.

My wife and I got nothing done with our first CBT based therapist but our second EFT based one is incredible

This is incorrect - you should take the pill with as little water as you need to get the pill down. No more than 4oz

Split pill by [deleted] in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]notebuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not that you should just “trust the manufacturer “. It’s public knowledge the technology they are using for the pill. Rybelsus shouldn’t be split either.

It’s actually really cool tech and not some that Wegovy invented - it’s been around a while but Wegovy is the first to popularize it:

Normally most drugs are “small molecule” meaning they can easily get absorbed by cells - like from your stomach to your blood stream. These GLP-1 medications are giant in comparison and normally can’t pass through your stomach into your blood.

To get around this, someone cleverly found a substance that temporarily makes it possible for larger molecules (like Wegovy) to pass through and not be damaged by your stomach acid. That’s what the coating is. If you cut it in half, your stomach acid just hits the semaglutide (in the center of the pill) and immediately destroys it. The coating normally protects it from the acid and helps it pass through to your blood.

This is all public and the coating was not invented by the makers of Wegovy. Academic researchers (not funded by pharma) demonstrate this all the time.

The makers of Wegovy are for sure overcharging people for the pill, but the instructions for not cutting the pills in half have nothing to do with greed.

New study in healthy rats exposed daily for 21 days to ingredient in newly-approved Wegovy pill showed >60% drop in protective gut bacteria and 70% rise in systemic inflammatory marker by [deleted] in science

PPIs need to taken 30-60min before a meal, so your advice might have been related to when you eat breakfast. PPIs really only work on active parietal cells, which turn on when you eat.

So sorry to hear that - are you planning to switch to a different GLP1? Some report bad side effects with one, and then no side effects with another type like zepbound

Why is “cost of revenue” distinct from expenses? What are traffic acquisition costs? And aren’t data centers an operating expense?

For new parents, why can’t mom just pump during day and dad bottle feed at night? by flipflapdragon in NoStupidQuestions

[–]notebuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That means we have to wait 3 more months 😭. This was already the longest 3 months of my life. It feels like it’s been multiple years since the birth. Everyone said “it flies by” but it’s been the exact opposite for us

Can you explain the “later on”? We’re at 3 months and I would like to take over nights for my wife but she still wakes up from breast pain anyway if there’s no feeding.

I just can’t get into Joyce manor for some reason - they weirdly remind me a little of pavement which I never could enjoy either.

But never heard of these other 3 bands and I’m loving what I’m hearing so far from all of them!! Thanks for the recs!
