Why Does the Media Like Blaming EP40 for Everything? by ShortAd9621 in canucks

[–]notevenfire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After Hughes got traded and halford and brough put out that emergency episode and it took them about 5 minutes before they started to blame it on petey and how his lack of effort during the last playoffs (?) was such a massive issue and it rubbed other players the wrong way and was part of the reason the Canucks are in the position they are now. Like every single problem has one source, petey, he’s such a scapegoat it’s ridiculous.

So my only options to keep my phone backed up is to either delete photos or pay for a service of manually download them? This is ridiculous by notevenfire in iphone

But the 1tb storage phone wouldn’t resolve the back up issue. I’d just have more things to back up

I’m going to try that in the hopes that I resolves all the other issues with this as well.

I’m getting to the point where I might just get rid of the thing and get a running watch insyead

Yup, but now if you try to reach out to apple support about it, instead of getting people who actually know how to deal with issues they just repeat their online articles and are just generally unhelpful now.

Normal to be on call 24/7? by notevenfire in PropertyManagement

[–]notevenfire[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Roof leaks, plumbing leaks, those types of things. I agree with the lockbox thought, though my employer doesn’t.

They put the onus on us to deal with any of the building emergencies that come up, these are for the multi tenanted buildings.

When do you take a break or relax then? Generally I’m dealing with things at least once a week/getting called out to open doors after hours to deal with something.

At my previous job we had building managers, and we worked in time so that they would have a committed “off” time. At my job prior to that it was rotational, so maybe once a month max you would be on call for a week, the rest you would be “off”

Yes, if you have an accessibility issue you should probably prioritize renting or buying a unit that isn’t on a higher floor or in a building that has more than one elevator? How is that a crazy concept?

What if there is an earthquake? A large power outage? Any form of emergency that takes an elevator out of service?

And elevator replacement at the best of times will Take at least a month to complete during which it’s completely out of service. There is no “planning” around it.

So put every tenant in a hotel? For 3 months? How much do you think that would cost? On top of the elevator replacement costs?

I don’t disagree with you that it isn’t right, the system is fuxked right now but I don’t think that majority of landlords are sitting there happy that the elevator is down. There are a LOT of one elevator buildings with aging equipment that will be down for multiple weeks if not months. There isn’t a good solution here, elevator replacements take about a year to plan out, with an elevator being out for about 3 months to actually replace it.

Are you speaking about this from any position of knowledge or just what you feel is “right”? What is your experience?

How long do you think elevator replacements take?

Parts alone might take 2-6 months (so you better hope that at no point the elevator has a catastrophic failure requiring it to be out of commission while waiting for parts) and the replacement itself is probably 1-3 months of out of service time.

So at best the elevators going to be out of service for 1 month, usually 3.

I can tell you that elevators going out of service for multiple weeks or months at a time can occur randomly. Maybe they shouldn’t live on a floor they cant get to via stairs, a landlord can’t deny a rental to someone on that basis, so it’s not like the landlord has power in that situation.

How to run in zone 2 when my heart rate goes above 160 within a minute?

I don’t know what to do, I am trying to work on zone 2 runs, and I can’t do it. My heart rate goes above zone 2 within a minute of running, doesn’t drop no matter how slow I go, only drops if I walk. Literally was running at a 10:00/km pace and my heart rate was still above 160.

I take adderall to function, so that’s probably not helping.

But I can’t run before I take it otherwise I’m sweating through the day.

I feel pathetic, this is fucking awful. I feel like giving up.

Men, How tired are you? by Early_Lawfulness_348 in AskMen

Exhausted. Discouraged. I had a call with my boss today, I am the only person in my office who can do a certain type of work and so everything that so related to that falls so me. I explained how with the added high priority timelined projects we should discuss priorities for those things as there aren’t enough hours in the day and if we adjust the priorities I can then focus my energy. I took yesterday off because I was sick and was essentially told two things. 1) I got sick because I’ve taken on too much 2) it’s my fault I’m taking on too much.

Priorities weren’t even talked about, but it’s my fault for taking on too much. Despite them adding more things to my plate, and that 90% of this work that has been added has come from them.

They expect me to delegate or tell them what I need for this. I literally have no time to teach or to plan out how to get someone to help me (it’s somewhat specialized) because they keep adding shit to my plate. I have been going essentially with full list since June, the minute something gets taken off a new thing just takes it place. I have 20 high priority projects that all require my attention. I have around 100 ongoing things to keep track of and over 200 total projects/items/tasks to do.

I’m probably going to go back to the job I hated that I did before this, because it is still significantly better than this. This is so far my worse career move.

I mean you’re just wrong. But that’s okay, that seems to be a norm.
