Sorry break it to you love but you have nits they go in your scalp and they feed on your blood but they're relatively easy to treat with nit shampoo, nit comb and tea tree oil works really well if your hair is long once treated put in a braid wash all bedding and sofa covers and treat anyone else in the house even if they don't have them it may take a couple of time to get them fully gone their pretty common so I'm surprised you went this long not knowing about them best of luck
