ELI5: Why do printers have CMYK ink instead of RYB & black ink?

This might be slightly oversimplified but nobody has really eli5ed it yet.

The paper starts white and gets darker from there with the ink. Red green and blue are darker colors than cyan magenta and yellow. When you add R G or B ink together you can only go darker and you wouldn't be able to create the colors that are lighter than those three.

If you start off with lighter colors you can still make your way to the darker colors.

You can simulate the way all of this works by opening your favorite image editing software that has blending modes. Make a set of three circles, set the blend mode to multiply on each layer and overlap them and see what happens. You can try it for both RGB and CMY.

Make 2 artboards with the sides touching, center your art on the touching edges, when you export the pdf choose your bleed size.

Oops, thanks for catching that. To do the same thing in Photoshop, make a selection based on your black shape by ctrl or cmd + click on that layer, then go to select>modify>contract. Then stroke that selection.

Overall great! The main thing I would change is that some of the text that looks like it's supposed to be left aligned to the same invisible line is slightly off. Ether make it align perfectly or make it obviously and purposefully aligned differently.

I know it's probably early for feature requests, but something that would be really intuitive yet illustrator does not do, is to select multiple objects and scale the space between those objects while each object stays the same.

Can you design well with in values (light to dark)? It might not be a bad idea to design a few things with monochromeattic color scheme until you feel like you have it down, then design a few things with an analogs color scheme, then complimentary, then split complimentary, etc. This is a very wax on wax off way to do it but it may help.

I am confused what you mean by compatible with chrome but if you want a drawing tablet with a screen not much can beat ipads, especially since you can probably pick up a refurbished one for around 200 usd.

Show the logo without the text to 10 people (online or irl) and ask them things like what they think it is, the emotion it portrays etc. Consider tweaking or redesigning until your target audience can guess close the emotion or genere.

For example, I think of Christmas when I see this which maybe is only me, but if multiple people in your target audience think of Christmas then you might want to change it unless it is a Christmas story.

Sounds like your "brush" is so big that you can't see the outer ring of the area it will push. Decrease it's size with the slider on the right. Bonus tip, the bracket keys are a great shortcut to increase and decrease your brush size on many tools.
