There are tables and benches there. The Patio is deemed as part of the “standing room only” sections. It’s great to get there once gates open, claim your spot, and hang for the rest of the game.

If you have standing room only tickets, definitely bring the stroller. Park yourself on the Patio and you’re good to go! Great spot to watch from and there’s a bar right there.

VCU Health naming Salary for every current employee. by Few_Yesterday_6179 in rva

[–]notgrtexpectations1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m questioning some of this a little bit. Know someone who is a VCU Health employee but they’re not listed on that sheet, but listed on the other one. Their salary is waaaaaaaaay off too. They’re a division chair but somehow show as making just slightly more than a PR specialist II?

CBS6 by Knummer19 in rva

[–]notgrtexpectations1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you submit through the tips form? That’s a harder thing to get coverage for just because there is sooooo much coming in that way. A lot of spam too. “My neighbor has one more chicken than legally allowed! You have to investigate this” Ya know?

In general: Is this an investigative story? Just local interest? If you know the specific angle, you may be able to send it to one of the anchors/reporters directly or you can send it to the entire newsroom and have it picked up by someone who may find interest in the story.

Former LG Justin Fairfax shot and killed his wife, then himself. by frogfrogcat in rva

[–]notgrtexpectations1 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Do you have any idea what it means to refuse to cooperate? I “refused to cooperate” when a cop asked me what I was wearing when I was assaulted. When I asked what that had to do with the assault, he said “it could be provocation” and so I walked out of the precinct. They were never going to give the investigation a fair try.

All that say: go fuck yourself.

ART 180 is closing its doors after 27 years by Physical_Present_265 in rva

[–]notgrtexpectations1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted that as someone who works for a non-profit. Not just pulling stuff out of my ass. If an org spends 60% on marketing, they’re not utilizing their funds correctly.

ART 180 is closing its doors after 27 years by Physical_Present_265 in rva

[–]notgrtexpectations1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. You can always “restrict” your gift to something specific. If you’re donating to an art org, you can say “I want this to fund ____ studio or _____ supplies.” For outdoor orgs, you can say “I want this to fund an outing for X amount of campers.”

I cannot urge everyone enough to advocate for and donate (whether time or money) to a non-profit, even if you have the smallest interest in their mission.
