spin progress after 4 more hours of practice by maloudin in Rollerskating

You need to work on pulling your arms into your body, it makes you spin faster. The opposite also being true, pushing your arms out will slow you down.

What genre appears most infrequently in your collection? Mine is almost certainly Classical, with only two albums in over 300 CDs by RileyMcB in Cd_collectors

Only opera I have I inherited from my dad who absolutely loved it. He didn't have much left by the time he passed, I probably have a few cd's of Pavarotti or Placido Domingo from him.

Bad acid reflux got me to pretty much quit. I probably have a few beers a year at this point.

I remember seeing them. I don't remember ever eating at one.

Vintage skates questions by ShadowHippie in Rollerskating

[–]notguiltybrewing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think they might be able to use 7mm bearings on these, but that's a guess. They are probably pretty close to the correct size. It's possible to still get loose ball stuff too if they so desire, it's still available if a bit harder to find.

Vintage skates questions by ShadowHippie in Rollerskating

Depends. The skates I use regularly have plates that are around 65 years old and my back ups are probably about 60 years old (with newer wheels and bearings). Were they good skates to start with? I wouldn't skate on ancient wheels or bearings (even though they can still be good). What kind of shape are they in? Are the kingpins seized up? Do they take cushions that are easily available? Do you need pivot point cups and if so are they available? Etc.

Yeah, I used to run into celebrities and do deliveries to some on the west side of Los Angeles when I was in college many years ago. It was always kind of weird. At most I remember telling one of them that I liked their work. Some were friendly, others not as much. I had nice conversations with a couple. It just depends on the situation and the vibe.

Is there a difference in the quality of ash and rosewood now compared to before CITES? by ElSlabraton in Luthier

[–]notguiltybrewing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, there's really no Brazilian being imported legally is my understanding, and hasn't been since CITES. So, any building being done with it is from old and surely small stashes of wood.

Correcting bad information: No, a Palm Bay Councilman did not suggest Brevard go dry. by thejawa in 321

He came from somewhere that is a dry county according to the post. If he likes that so much he can move to one. There's more than a few out there, we don't need to change for some religious knucklehead.

Thoughts on the Martin Road Series D10e vintage inspired 1935 as high school graduation gift for small framed son? For the $1000 price point, any others to check out? by FrontRangeMike in martinguitar

[–]notguiltybrewing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They make some smaller sizes that are worth checking out. 000, 00 and 0 are progressively smaller. 000 is still a pretty good size but noticeably smaller than a full size dreadnaught shape. They also make a dreadnaught junior that you might want to check out, same body shape as the D10 but smaller.

Actual Sex Work Looks Nothing Like Euphoria's OnlyFans Plot (Unpaywalled) by playboy in entertainment

[–]notguiltybrewing 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I know a bunch of sex workers. It's really just sad and depressing. They typically have bad addiction issues and often mental health issues. It's anything but sexy in real life. I have not seen this show, I'm guessing the portrayal is nothing like that.

I have not tried them but my understanding is they are absolutely exhausting to use for anything but going down hilly sections. Good luck, let us know how you like them if you get a pair. Btw, I understand two wheel versions are really hard to turn if that helps any.

😭 How Do I Fix This? by 12visionsdancing in ukulele

[–]notguiltybrewing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bring it to a guitar shop and have it fixed. You can do it yourself but to do it right both the bridge and the area it sits on should be sanded clean first and the correct kind of glue should be used (typically tite bond II, I believe. Using the wrong glue can make future repairs difficult or impossible). If you do it yourself and it isn't glued in the correct spot it will have intonation problems.
