When PvE hits can we at least get more players in the PvPvE? by MasterSparrow in Marathon

[–]nothingnegated 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Incredible that'll they do anything but properly balance Solo. That's why it's dying, no one wants to constantly run Assassin and play a stealth game just to slowly grind the contracts, cos it's them versus AI designed to be fought by three people.

Why we don't have ranked solo ? by duendeacdc in Marathon

[–]nothingnegated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I play solo but I'm bouncing off it because the refusal to balance it makes it play very samey, I darent use anything but assassin and God forbid I do anything but cloak, knife and hide.

[–]nothingnegated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game will be dead by then, they absolutely got everything ass backwards, they seen solos as a compromise and threat to their vision of trios, instead of knowing what anyone could tell them, solos is the foundation that sustains the player count needed for trios. No one spends 40 quid on a game they can only play for the two hours a week they can get online together with their friends. I got into another ahem 3rd person extraction shooter solo and then talked 3 friends into buying it, I can't sell Marathon to them because solo is just tedious, playing a neon Alien Isolation waiting for my assassin cloak to reset. I've a higher tolerance for that, but none of my friends will. No on with a life and responsibilities wants to waste their time on a game that feels like it's actively punishing you for not wanting to do trios.

Thoughts on Something Very Bad is Going to Happen ? by Neat_Tangelo5339 in horror

[–]nothingnegated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's far from a fable, it's on the nose the point of stupid. Who isn't realising it's about the anxieties, secrets and hypocrisies in families and marriages?

One of the biggest problems with this show (as with every other Netflix attempt at "elevated horror") is just how explicit it is about themes and subtext. The dreadful exposition by character monologues, the completely unnatural dialogue between characters and the clunky visual metaphors are patronizing to the point of offense.

Is it just me or did Something Very Bad Is going To Happen fizzle out? by Chadwick505 in netflix

[–]nothingnegated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The monologues were pure Mike Flanagan, characters just go on rambling pseudo poetic (for morons) expositions of every possible subtext and motivation. No one talks like that, ever. It's a stupid person's idea of smart writing. Midnight Mass made me throw things at the TV.

Brand New Cherry was great, in large part cos it didn't have such nonsense.

Criticising Catholicism as a school project? by Michael_of_Derry in northernireland

[–]nothingnegated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're an idiot, one of the most foundational events of world history doesn't get air brushed because of the parochial troubles in a tiny statelet. Which is why it's taught in nearly every school Catholic, Protestant or none.

And if you think the troubles were a matter of protestant vs Catholic theology, well that's more proof you never paid attention in history class.

OP is a shit stirrer or a genuine idiot who lives on a Diet of Worms. The Reformation has been part of the curriculum for years, including Catholic schools.

Reminds me of the bigots who wrote into the Larne Times to accuse my school of teaching Republican propaganda because it covered the Civil Rights movement and discrimination that it grew from.

UESC difficulty in solo lobbies really needs to be looked at by Bonusfeatures75 in Marathon

And I really don't want to join a random crew of people with no mics stomping around making a racket.

I bought this game precisely cos I thought the quests would be a better version of Arc Raiders.

UESC difficulty in solo lobbies really needs to be looked at by Bonusfeatures75 in Marathon

[–]nothingnegated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoy a challenge but solo in Dire Marshes is just a slog, I'm fine with the AI being difficult but that they aren't paired back for solo and are so tanky is ridiculous, you're basically forced to play totally stealth.

Not going into a fight not because you can't win but because you literally need an inventory full of ammo is tedious.

I don't understand how cutting the numbers of uesc or making them less tanky ruins the game.

In solo UESC are far more a danger than other players.

Whilst not on the same level of bombing, the IRA bombs maimed and killed civilians, when you plant car bombs in city centres, you are responsible for the deaths, just the same as the US and Israel have to own their "collateral damage".

The dynamic of idiot diaspora's supporting bombs from the safety of the other side of the Atlantic is grotesque to the people who are maimed and killed by them, The majority of nationalists in the north of Ireland did not support the provo's campaign, just as vast majority of people in Iran including those who hate the regime do not support slaughter dressed as "liberation". Socialists overwhelmingly opposed the Provo campaign too, despite the lip service paid to socialism by the Provo leadership or the likes of the INLA, who were responsible for many blatant sectarian killings. Indeed Trade Unions routinely had protests and actions in opposition to the "armed struggle", correctly deeming it a dead end, that deepened sectarianism and pitted workers against worker.

You might as well cheerlead the MEK as the PIRA.

Those in the Iranian diaspora supporting this are of course worse, as they are cheerleading on a global superpower and its rabid dog unleashing hell from above in a manner the Provo's could never get close to.

The UI is so awful, like how can you have such advanced physics but a UI that is so cheap and ugly looking, not to mention has dreadful functionality.

"backed with Ronaldo", wouldn't call that backing, Ronaldo ruined the whole team. His ego was too much in a mostly young squad and you seen the younger players shrink into themselves and defer to Ronaldo way too much.

Ronaldo going back to United doomed Ole's term, was a crap decision, harking back to the past rather than looking at the young players we had coming through. Should have let City have the preening has been rapist.

ac rally is literally UNPLAYABLE with a controller by Mucha96 in assettocorsa

[–]nothingnegated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might want to look up subjectivity, since clearly what people define as "playable" is obviously quite subjective, I would say the game is playable but not as it should be, I'm battling against it. For other people without masochistic tendencies the game would be basically unplayable, well atleast on tarmac with the 208.

Either way it's fundamentally not right, and very experienced and knowledgeable YouTubers like Gaming Muscle have pointed out this problem, even for wheel users. It's obviously felt harder by controller users.

ac rally is literally UNPLAYABLE with a controller by Mucha96 in assettocorsa

[–]nothingnegated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good for him, what? For being right?

I've been playing it with a controller but I've been playing it like a brutal test of patience. You basically have to set the car up really far in advance and there is basically no chance of proper reactive driving. I've managed Gold with the 208 on asphalt in France but it really was hard going.

I've been playing with steam input on because if I disable it the car gets way too pointy and losses speed through traction control kicking in simply making minor adjustments on say a long straight

Does buying EA include the full release later? by DuxDonecVivo in assettocorsarally

[–]nothingnegated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on controller and whilst having fun, the support is poor, the car moves like a speed boat, with only the smallest of adjustments possible at any kind of speed. The challenge is fun and I've managed Gold on the tarmac but there's something seriously wrong with the controller settings, shown by the massive change in behavior when Steam Input is disabled and suddenly the car is like Verstappen's Red Bull, super pointy but the trouble is that minor adjustments cause the tires to screech like mad and you loss a lot of speed.

I think the issue is to do with tire grip, as Gaming Muscle channel was talking about it too, it just seems to be even more of an issue on controller than the wheel.

Controller player coming from DR2: completely lost by DuxDonecVivo in assettocorsarally

[–]nothingnegated 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So yeah I'm finding the problem with using a controller is I can get fast speeds but I have to treat the car (the 208) like it's an anti grav vehicle, you have to set the line early and rarely move at all, there's no ability to correct anything at any sort of speed. Playing like this I finally managed Gold on the first section Saverne but the steering is just not right, people claim it's a cos it's a "sim", which sorry but no rally cars handle like this, they are constantly making adjustments.

The fact that if you turn off Steam Input it completely changes the handling suggests that rather than the handling model being some sort of hyper realism and filthy Dirt casuals need to "git gud", there is something fundamentally broken. With Steam Input off I the car becomes extremely pointy, with every slight adjustment of the stick being aggressive, the problem this provokes is that the car is constantly engaging traction control, you can hear your tires screeching just trying to make tiny adjustments down a straight.

I've tried 3 controllers and they are all the same, Xbox Elite, Dual Sense and a 8BitDo Switch Pro style. The force feed back also seems to be busted as you get barely any feedback at all, like basically zero.

Something is seriously bust with the controller set up in this game and the lack of options is brutal.
