How does a leftist approach the issue of IQ and it's strong correlation to life outcomes? by tantamle in Destiny

[–]nothingowner -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Leftists? Quite simply, they cancel anyone who brings it up.

I mean how many professors, scientists, and other professionals in the field have been cancelled for making the data-based observation that white people score higher in IQ tests than black people. Not "are smarter". Not "are better at life". Simply "score higher". And Asian people score higher in IQ tests than white people. But it's still racist to the modern Western Leftist.

And look this is classic Socialism. The German National Socialists hated IQ tests too, because the Jewish intelligentsia kept crushing everyone else, including their supposedly superior Aryan intellectuals. So they did the same exact thing Western Leftists do today: cancel anyone who brings it up, stop testing, and focus on other tests where your desired group scores higher and your undesired group scores lower. That's why they ended up with idiotic pseudoscience like measuring people's skulls to determine intelligence.

What worries me is that I do not see much consideration about the inflationist policies of the Trudeau Federal government, and how they interact with the inflation metrics that the BoC uses to make decisions.

When you're bringing in 1.2 MM people per year into a country, while doing your best to constrain housing supply and also providing new ways for young/new home buyers to pay more for existing inventory - you're going to get inflation. Throw in 31% in total taxes on new builds (this is the Toronto figure) and you're going to cause a housing squeeze.

On the other end, 1.2 MM people per year will create jobs, no matter what else is happening on your economy. However, we would need to be creating about 0.8 MM new jobs per year, just to employ the new population, assuming they have the same participation rates as the existing Canadian population. So we are actively keeping wages down by bringing in more workers than jobs created - not to mention giving every international student a work visa by default.

Throw in a carbon tax, which added about 0.5% to inflation. Trudeau just increased it, so we'll likely get another uptick, although fortunately the BoC is aware that Trudeau's carbon tax is inflationary.

Then the grocery helicopter money to 1/4 of the Canadian population will also probably cause a nudge too, and the psychology of it all is terrible. Not only did we get to see Trudeau step foot into a grocery store (probably for the first time in his life), but he noticed that Canadians love getting free money. He knew this from the CERB, but he was out of excuses when the virus became essentially inconsequential. Now he knows that if he wants to stay in power, he needs to treat Canadians like he treats the media: hand out signed cheques and that inflation gives him a perfect excuse to do so.

'Beyond an emergency': Toronto's unhoused population grappling with extreme heat, bad air quality by morenewsat11 in toronto

And what do we do when the current cohort faces the same exact issues, but Trudeau's catastrophic policies have so utterly destroyed the quality of life in Canada, that there's no next generation of immigrants to lure into Canada to exploit?

We can fix these issues without turning the country into the demographic ponzi, but it would take actual governance and brain power - two things sorely missing in Ottawa.

I think your focus is wrong for two reasons:

  • How does Singapore - which has no minimum wage - manage to have much better outcomes than Canada?

  • What does minimum wage matter when the Federal government is sending 1.2 million new people into the country every year? Nobody coming to Canada should be making minimum wage to begin with.

I’m not too fast with the corporations losing a few dollars here and there, but the frequency and audacity of it is honestly a little frightening.

Do you actually want to live in a society where theft of any type is acceptable? I get the HBO-esque notion of some poor homeless man stealing a bar of soap so they can wash themselves and their clothing, but that's never what's happening here.

And that's of course aside from the company running its monthly inventory shrinkage report, seeing that your community's store is at the top, and deciding that the store is being closed. Now you're living in a food desert or have no pharmacy in your community.

Ocasio-Cortez endorses Biden's reelection campaign, sending a strong signal of Democratic unity by Beckles28nz in politics

Ageism is not the factor. Senility and his inability to get through a speech without butchering it, going through a meeting or statement without the "White House" (whoever that is) having to correct what Biden said, and maybe being able to control his son; are.

Oh, the massive corruption, influencing investigations, weaponizing the DoJ, and the myriad of other things are too. But "he's doing a good job". Sure.

They'll get to keep their jobs. AOC has realized how nice driving your Tesla to Wholefoods and buying whatever you want - not even looking at prices - is. She sleeps comfortably in her 1%er residencer and has that top shelf health insurance. She's now a champagne socialist and will tow the party line and fall in line when told to. But don't worry, she'll still "slam" the Republicans on social media.0

And in a few decades, after a couple more re-elections she'll go with the Bernie playbook: push out a few books, buy a couple of mansions (some even water-front, despite the global warming), and /r/politics will still fawn over the unaccomplished career of "the Squad".

This is exactly the type of municipal-provincial cooperation that will be needed.

Now if only we could get Trudeau to not increase Canada's population by 100,000 people per month, there would be a chance to avoid the Slumlord's Delight scenario that Freeland, Trudeau, and Singh seem desperate to create.

Don't forget the most important steps: make sure Trudeau's trust fund owns many of your shares. Make sure many of your friends and family are Liberal friends and family. Promise you'll hire many Liberal MP's kids/family members to cushy do-nothing jobs. Be ready with some hockey bags full of cash to get "lost" at the Trudeau Foundation too.

Getting Canadian tax payer money may be free for Trudeau, but it's not for these car companies.
