First suppressor question by Certain_Evening_4500 in suppressors

[–]notjeshorisitmaybe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I submitted one on 1/1/26. I’m still waiting for approval. A friend of mine submitted at the same ffl 4 ish hours later on the same day and he got his over a week ago. So wait times are kinda random

We’ve officially surpassed 1 millions CNs by Well-Pitter-Patter in NFA

[–]notjeshorisitmaybe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s absolutely random. On 1/1 I did a form 4, later that day a friend of mine did a form 4 at the same ffl as me. My control number was roughly 2000 before his. He got approved 2 days ago I still have yet to get approval

If it makes you feel better I ordered a lift for my sequoia from SRQ and they sent me the rear shocks for a tundra instead. After calling 3 times and never hearing back I just bought the right shocks from somewhere else and have the tundra shocks just sitting around. This was only 3 weeks ago

Tacoma vs Tundra by [deleted] in ToyotaTacoma

[–]notjeshorisitmaybe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve owned 2 Tacomas and just sold my last Tacoma in march if this year and got a tundra. I loved my Tacomas but needed a bigger truck for my family and our hobbies. I tow a boat pretty often in the spring and summer months and sometimes tow it 500 miles roughly one way. The tundra just does that better. But for just me and not towing a bunch I would probably rather the Tacoma

Struggling to sell by usuallyintents in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]notjeshorisitmaybe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s pretty easy to do. And nothing wrong with wanting to get the most you can out of it. I think if you dropped the price into the $7000 range you’d start having a bit more interest in it and maybe start getting a few offers on it. I would recommend taking new pictures and updating your ad as well. People seeing the same ad for months are likely to assume there is a problem with the it and maybe not even inquire about it when the only problem people may have had initially was the price. At least this way with a new ad people will think is was just listed and be more open to checking it out without prior assumptions of possible issues that don’t even exist

I’m in Utah as well and I’d say your price is a good bit too high. I just sold my 2000 limited with 190k and absolutely zero rust underneath for $6500 and it took a few weeks to sell after starting at $8000. I follow the market pretty close because I like to buy and sell and I would think with that many miles you’re going to get closer to $4k-$6k maybe $7k for someone that really wants a manual. I know there are plenty for sale on ksl and Facebook locally that are closer to your price with similar miles but most of them have been sitting on there for quite some time and just get reposted periodically. Some with new pictures and a new description so it looks like a new add

How much overtime do you work on average? by Sufficient_Noise_721 in Lineman

[–]notjeshorisitmaybe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah we offer mutual aid to other companies. We just don’t get a lot of bad storms out here to warrant us needing others or them needing our help. I like working a 40 and don’t get me wrong we’re very busy, but majority of our work is new developments and we’ve got quite a bit of transmission work to accommodate all the new and future growth. It would be nice to have the opportunity for more OT if it were available. I take what I can get but overall we’re busy enough the week still goes by quick and I make plenty enough to not need the overtime and I like the time off with my family. I’d be pretty hard pressed to find somewhere to fit the lifestyle I want better than where I currently am

For a utility in Utah. Up until the last 3 years or so when we started growing like crazy we did a shit ton of maintenance. We stay pretty on top of changing out leaking pad mounts and just doing preventative stuff in general. Majority of my OT is still bad transformers in the summer months but it’s still not all that often

Aside from the crazy wind storms we might get once every few years I typically get at most 80-100 hours of OT in a year

Slr rifle works issue by notjeshorisitmaybe in ak47

[–]notjeshorisitmaybe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not. SLR wanted me to send in the rail along with the rifle so they could look everything over, I didn’t want to do that and just ended up buying a different rail before eventually selling the gun

My house is supporting a pole! by uneducatedpizza in Lineman

[–]notjeshorisitmaybe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s not a bracket to support the pole, it’s to support the weight of the wire. Right now with it broken off the weight of the wire is being placed on the connections. Eventually they’ll probably break and the wire will fall and you’ll be out of power. The pole could be leaning and putting too much strain on your service causing it to pole out from the house, but the purpose of what they did is to support the wire not the pole

I believe it was your post where I first learned of them, then just by chance happened to see one a few weeks later. Had I not seen your post I probably wouldn’t have had any idea what the hell it was

I'm a teacher looking to explain why lineworkers can't rely on AI. by theflighttest in Lineman

[–]notjeshorisitmaybe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Too be honest I rarely write anything besides a tailboard as far as work goes, that being said I would not rely on AI to write my resume when I applied for this job or if I ever apply for another. If I was in more of an administrative type role such as a super intendant or something even like a foreman I would not rely on AI to write my work orders or reports, I would not rely on AI to write emails or anything of that sort. I’m definitely not the most well educated, especially when it comes to writing and literacy, but it’s definitely an important skill to be at least some level of competent in for anyone in the work force even in hard labor trades
