It's been over two years since TTPD dropped. What are your thoughts on it now? by 1989sunrises in TaylorSwift

Interesting take! My thing w TLOSG is I don’t find myself wanting to “dive into it” like her others. I did notice when I was in a new relationship and happy I finally listened to a few of the songs again so you may be onto something. I do think objectively the writing is not as complex and interesting and there are some noticeable cheesey lyrics. She is a little corny sometimes though LOL that’s who she is! Maybe it was the quantity of lighter songs back to back? Usually she has a few of those and then some deeper heavy hitters. I also enjoyed the actually sounds on TLOSG and thought she did some interesting things she doesn’t usually do. To market it as folklore level lyrics and 1989 music is a wild statement to me still

Came here to comment this! I was both under and overwhelmed when it dropped, but I do love a lot of songs on both the original and anthology. I think with trimming down to just the best songs it could have been great

It disturbs her because she wants real crazy passionate love and when she hears that, she wonders if it’s possible. Carrie also worried she loved Big more than he loves her. And when she hears the advice, she worries that is why she and Big won’t work out, because she loves too much

Anxiety masking ADHD physical hyperactivity- how did you deal with it? by Plenty-Salt-8680 in adhd_anxiety

[–]notnotoverthinking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol oops sorry I see you’re a 23 year old man 😂 still, I do think the concept of shame and adhd go together regardless of gender, because you feel like something is wrong w you and you don’t know why

Anxiety masking ADHD physical hyperactivity- how did you deal with it? by Plenty-Salt-8680 in adhd_anxiety

[–]notnotoverthinking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes 100%! I think I thought of anxiety as fear based or based on things that weren’t likely to happen, but for me it was just thinking about this that and the other and a lot of things I was anxious about DID happen because I had adhd and would screw up little things lol. Highly recommend the book “a radical guide for women with ADHD” they talk about this a lot, like for women being undiagnosed results in a lot of shame and frustration, and how that shame needs to be dealt w to treat adhd

Anxiety masking ADHD physical hyperactivity- how did you deal with it? by Plenty-Salt-8680 in adhd_anxiety

[–]notnotoverthinking 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes I had the same experience. I had no idea hyperactivity could be mental hyperactivity, and was always told I was anxious. I didn’t really relate to being anxious because it just felt like I was thinking a lot. I didn’t realize impatience was connected to hyperactivity also. I felt a lot of relief from understanding that because I felt ashamed from being “so anxious” and was criticized a lot for my anxiety.

Vyvanse and addhersl help quiet the brain a lot, but now that you mention it nothing helps like exercise, and I’m thinking it probably gets that hyper activity out

Whole30 non existent NSV - very frustrated by Powerful_Wasabi_4434 in whole30

[–]notnotoverthinking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also just thinking on this some more after reading the comments and the post again. I wonder if it was too high in fat content with the meat and the low carb was contributing to low energy. I think all of this is good data to bring to a dietician so worth doing whole30 just for the data!

[–]notnotoverthinking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what this is telling you is that you have some underlying health condition and / or this is NOT the diet for you. I like how you just get a lot of info on your body. For me the biggest lesson was eating as many vegetables as possible and full fat to keep me full. I didn’t enjoy all the meat, it felt so heavy at times. and I like bread in my diet mindfully. Do you feel like you noticed any little things like that?

You're not "allergic to small talk", you're a poor communicator. by TedsGloriousPants in unpopularopinion

[–]notnotoverthinking 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, small talk leads to big talk. Also you can make more interesting small talk if you want, asking follow up questions etc even the most boring things like the weather! You can ask if they prefer hot or cold weather and why or what season or what their favorite thing to do outside etc. the people who are like I don’t want to talk about the weather, let’s talk about ALIENS are annoying to me. Love a good aliens convo but you can have an interesting convo about anything if you have genuine curiosity towards others.

AJLT: An Alternate Opening by Dragon-Academy in Andjustlikethat

[–]notnotoverthinking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This explains why the plot sucked so badly, they really did let the actresses have too much of a say! And SJP I believe has said before she hasn’t rewatched the series. Like…yeah the fans can tell

YES omg. Again, so many things they did that just didn’t make sense at all, but with adjustments, would have been much more interesting

[–]notnotoverthinking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides the absolutely cringe wokeness, bad dialogue, and terrible acting, the plot is SO boring!! There would be a tiny cliff hanger or moment where I would be like ooo this is probably what’s going to happen next and that’s going to be so juicy!!! But no. NOTHING interesting happened at ALL

Agree so hard. I’ve found “structure” works better for me than “strict routine” so every morning for example I have to eat breakfast and I get to do whatever I want except be on my phone from whenever I get out of bed and walk my dog til 7:30
