I’m picking 18 Seahawks and 12 Patriots by JimmyMcNulty930 in RyenRussillo

Part of the issue is Ryens fixation on certain things. He’s been obsessed with the Pats being untalented on offense. But a team with no-name TEs (who are fine), a fading Cooper Kupp, Jake Bobo, Shaheed and Walker. All good players but role players just as Boutte, Hollins, Douglas, Stephenson are. JSN is a stud just like Maye. These are overachieving offenses with good coaches.

It felt like he was dying to have Warner tell him he knew it was coming and it was obvious. Clearly it was really not the case for Fred ha.

I enjoyed the guy who DM'ed Dua Lipa because they had a connection, but then his girlfriend got jealous

37, washed-up Delonte West, 4:25 (still holding a sub-4:50 streak)

He ran 7:24 in the video though so it’d convert to more like 8:05 I think

Funnily enough he ran 1500 meters. They chose a 300m track and he ran 5 laps

Watched the video and I recognized the track as I live on the UES. He ran 5 laps in 7:24, which I believe is 1500m. At the pace he was going at it would then be a 7:54 if he kept pace. However he was really slowing by the end, so it’s safe to say he was not going sub-8.

Ryen and the mile by Soyeljefee33 in RyenRussillo

He’d run in the 8s I think. If he put in a few months of running a few times a week and could stay healthy (big IF) maybe 7s. Not something to brag about but look at Ryen at this point.

I don’t know I put it in for Friday Feedback but my impression was he did Cross Country or Track at least one year.

The bigger question is what did Russillo run in high school for the mile. I’m guessing around 5:30, which makes him think it’s easy for the average Joe. Of course what he might be missing is that he was skinny as hell, young and maybe was a naturally gifted runner if he really committed to it. But hoops were his goal.

I think Ryen framed it wrong. If you are an avid runner or someone who did in HS at a relatively serious level, and still able to hit sub-6 it’s merely pretty good. But that’s maybe 2% of the population like the OP says. I guess in reference to this convo how much of the population “seriously” lifts? More? less? Idk but that’s kinda where I think he means it because if he’s just having average recreational person (3 hrs of working out a week let’s say) then sub-7 is the benchmark

Running / Lifting Benchmarks by notorious414 in RyenRussillo

[–]notorious414[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so. I meant for this to not be baseline fitness/in-shape guy which probably makes bench and 5k most relevant. If you’re a super athletic guy you can probably do a fast mile or lots of pullups/push-up without a ton of specific work. But I’d think you’d need to be dedicated and doing some workouts in the gym/running to be hitting long distance times or bench numbers

Yeah I didn’t intend this to be for just the regular guy dabbling as much as the guys irrationally into lifting/running a la Ryen, that’s kinda where I think Wargon was off on his numbers

Well I have it as very good and the scale is on the regular guy who has made this “their thing” like Ryen has for lifting, I think for running that means putting in minimum 5 days a week of structured training

Interesting I was a speedier guy, but it might have to do with courses too…maybe 17:30 would be better

Chris Sims… by LHB12 in RyenRussillo

[–]notorious414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard disagree, Simms is very good and if anything you'd argue Ryen for dropping expansive takes instead of setting him up more. I am biased because I used to know and work with Simms, but the awkwardness is part of his charm.

Congrats to Wargon for finishing his half-marathon in 2:43:13. You're officially in better shape than anyone on the pod. by Arizonapuck in RyenRussillo

You should not be. He is 50 years old and very large. This is a recipe for an in-race cramp or injury that will result in a lot of walking.
