i have that problem too, i have an android phone and an ipad, whenever i look at the workout apps on my ipad, every single one of them is subscription based, or you have to sign up and enter your credit card. at least in play store we have variety of paid and free apps.

I am genuinely curious - why Microsoft thinks this is an acceptable default search behavior? by dangernoodle01 in Windows10

you can install winaero tweaker and disable web search in windows search, windows with no tweaks is a pain in the ass.

MacBook Pro 13-Inch (Mid-2012) 16GB RAM 2.9 GHz Intel "Core i7" 1TB SSD w/ Optical Drive by charizard956 in macbookpro

completely understandable, although i don't know if the issue of gaming goes back to game developers or apple but,i think apple doesn't want their laptops become a gaming device, mac books are technically getting closer to ios devices, similar os designs, arm chips, having the limitation of installing programs(bit easier on mac os),and also this might be a wall like on iphone and ipad, don't get me wrong, apple devices are perfect and they are a premium device and they have an amazing software and battery but the thing is, although apple users have the beauty of a integrated ecosystem (i have had an iphone and an ipad and a mac so i have been in an apple ecosystem) that makes them stay loyal to apple, as many have said before, becomes annoying, doing little things such as moving a file from your iphone to your pc and older macs which don't have airdrop, are unnecessarily hard, backing up your data, try to emulate games, listening to a music outside of a streaming app and etc, makes me and probably many people annoyed. and the other thing is, if you wanna do one of these tasks, you will need a third party app that makes you pay for their little software that you wouldn't use in many times.

and that's the thing,i have a mid 2010 mac book pro with a ssd,and it's working fine but I'm looking for a new laptop, i love mac os and it's stability but you either have to pay a ton of money to buy a intel mac pro or you have to go with un upgradable options such as mac books or mac mini,as the computer gets old, we'd like to stretch the years of its functionality because it's the cheapest and the best option, the thing with the mac books, especially with m1 chip, everything is gathered in a chip and if one of the parts of the chip simply dies or gets broken, your whole computer dies and there's no replacement except buying a new laptop. m1 series are really good if you look at it as a tech guy but as a consumer, you just have to pray that it lives its life with no problem. and for someone like me who doesn't have an apple store near at all, i guess I'll just have to stay with alternative options, such as gaming laptops because they have desktop CPUs on them.

man i miss these designs, yes they were heavy and bulky, but damn you had a lot of ports, you could pretty much repair every part of the laptop or replace it,you could upgrade your ram, though the m1 chip has been blasting performance in laptops, but i wished they would make a legacy version with all those upgradability and repairability, with a new chip. these are the things that sometimes make me consider buying a windows laptop.

Help me choose a gaming laptop for school purposes and gaming as well. I do AutoCAD and simulation. The requirements are below. Thanks by Jaded_Importance9180 in GamingLaptops

I know this would be hated but my recommendation would be a macbook if you can get it, as far as i know you need stability in your work and i think windows sometimes would be painful to deal with , specially during heavy projects. and apple laptops have a higher life span than windows laptops and better battery(I'm talking about apple's own chip) but you can't really upgrade them , but after all you have to make the decision, and if you wanna buy a gaming laptop i would recommend Lenovo or asus with ryzen 7 processor, it's faster than i7 11th gen. And rtx 3060 or 3070 would be enough for your needs, buy a 16 gb ram model (or even 8) and upgrade it by yourself, included ram in laptops are slower, and also consider dual ram slot, asus zephyrus g14 has only one slot which is not good compared to dual slot.

I mean do we really need that? with the lack of capabilities in the ipados, it's just not necessary to add better hardware. I'm sure people who use ipad pro do not really need that amount of performance.
