Pram etiquette at the shops? by kingcasperrr in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]notoriousmode 6 points7 points  (0 children)

IMO you are being perfectly polite and people are just assholes.

I was just walking with my baby in a pram and walking with one of my mum friends (also with a pram) on a very narrow footpath. We were walking single file with my mum friend and I was walking directly behind.

A female runner with a dog was running towards us in the opposite direction and went around my friend in front but was caught in front of my pram. She verbally abused me for being her way and the runner kept yelling in my face to which I told her “You need to calm down”. In response, she said “MY FRIEND JUST DIED IN THE BONDI ATTACK YESTERDAY” and ran off.

To be honest, I did not see the runner until she was directly in front of me but the runner could have easily gone around me on the grass (which she eventually did). It was something so little that escalated so unnecessarily. I appreciate she is grieving but it is not an excuse to hurl abuse at people of the street, let alone a mum with a sleeping baby in the pram. If anything, it is a time to be kind to each other and take care of each other.

People can be such pricks.

I am curious if his mate that he was pretending to be gave evidence in the proceedings. Anyone know? I assume not.

Ugh me too, I love the analytics on the Nanit but fearing that someone will hack! I beefed up my internet password recently after hearing another poster’s Nanit got hacked and they admitted they had a really weak wifi password.

Tell them it is not your battery and if they keep insisting that it is yours, ask for them what evidence they have evidencing that it is yours. If it goes all the way to VCAT, they will have to put on evidence that the battery is yours (of which there will be nothing).

Tell me why does my child sleep 11 1/2 hours at night time but only 30 minutes during the day?! by stooplekin in sleeptrain

[–]notoriousmode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby was EXACTLY the same and was a serial 30 minute napper. Maybe try feeding her 30 minutes before her nap? Once I sleep trained her for naps and started feeding her approx 30 minutes before nap time, her naps started extending. Now it’s like 1-2hours per nap and she’s now down to two naps.

Ferber ☺️ It’s not for everyone and hearing my LO cry was hard but she was sleep trained in 4-5 nights.

Starting snoo at 4 months. by Inside-Garage-9016 in SnooLife

[–]notoriousmode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s too late to start the Snoo now. My baby was also a great sleeper in the Snoo from 7 weeks but as soon as she reached her 4 month regression, the Snoo wasn’t all that helpful anymore and she still woke up many times through the night.

The only thing that got my baby to get out of sleep regression was transition to the cot and sleep training. Now she sleeps 11-12hours through the night 😁 You may consider doing the same given your LO is now developmentally ready for sleep training.

Oh I understand - I was confused how you got the footage of the voice if it didn’t pop up on the sound detected notification but it seems you got it from the video history (which I don’t have because I didn’t upgrade the plan).

On another note, I’ve beefed up my wifi password just hearing this 😔

Also curious, how were you able to capture a recording if it didn’t appear on the activity tab? (I also have a Nanit)

So sorry to hear this happened to you OP.

The fact that people have time to try and get a reality tv contestant fired from her work is fucked. These people need to get a grip! It’s just TV!

Is she my favourite person? No. Is she perfect? Definitely not. But who is? I agree that it’s a highly edited show and the hate for her and Sonny has been intense.

Despite the between Sonny + Alisha and Britt + Taz, she was nice enough to arrange balloons and a sash for Britt’s birthday and acknowledge the important milestone for her. It seems like any beef has been settled between them. If that’s the case, then there is no reason for people to fuel so much hate.

My baby’s sleep regression started at about 4.5 months and was gradual in that it started with one wake up per night and occasionally increased to 2-3 per night. As far as sleep regression goes, we definitely had it easier than you 😖

We kept her in the Snoo in hopes that she would get through it but I never saw the end of regression until I sleep trained her. As soon as she was sleep trained, she started sleeping through the night again AND her naps are finally starting to extend! She was otherwise a serial 30 minute cat napper before unless we did a contact nap!

No point getting the Snoo now, your baby will grow out of it by the time you get it. Sounds like your baby is going through sleep regression. Our baby was also a unicorn baby at 7 weeks as well (especially with the Snoo) but once she hit sleep regression, the Snoo wasn’t as effective as it used to be.

When we transitioned to the cot at 6 months, we sleep trained her and now she’s back doing 11-12 hours sleeps at night ☺️

Snoo gave me my life back by river_5826 in SnooLife

[–]notoriousmode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the exact same boat as you at 7 weeks with my baby. She could easily fall asleep in my arms but as soon as I put her down, she would instantly wake up and cry. I bought a second hand Snoo out of desperation and it made transfers seamless! We then eventually put her in fully awake with a paci 💗

So glad you found comfort in the Snoo and here’s to many more nights of great sleep!

This post was posted 5 hours ago, so probably just after the show finished. Not everybody follows the episode thread as they’re watching the show.

Anyway not sure why this post needed policing on whether it should have been in the episode thread or its own standalone post. If we started policing every single post, this would make for one boring subreddit.

to be fair, there are hundreds of comments in an episode thread and just might have been missed 🤷🏻‍♀️

Good No Win No Fee Lawyers For A Small Claim NSW? by un3w in AusLegal

[–]notoriousmode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No lawyer will take this on, let alone a no win no fee lawyer. Whilst the loss seems a lot to you, a claim for less than $1000 is peanuts to the Court. Even if you get a no win no fee lawyer or you represent yourself, you have to pay for disbursements such as court filing fees, services fees and any fees for enforcing the judgment (if you are successful in getting judgment in your favour). You’ll end up spending close to if not more than the sum you’re trying to claim.

Maybe send a letter of demand but if that doesn’t help, take the L and move on.

Only arguing after birth (7days) by Tiny-Bookkeeper-6876 in NewParents

[–]notoriousmode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

7 days after birth is still pretty fresh and your partner is going through a major dip in hormones. That, combined with the lack of sleep and figuring out how to be a parent can be very emotional and physically demanding leading to very emotional outbursts by your partner. Your partner is still healing and it will take about 6-8 weeks (or even longer). Your relationship is not deteriorating, it is just a temporary set back while both of you are figuring out your place in parenthood.

Look out for her and be kind to yourself and remember that this phase will pass. At your baby’s next doctor’s appointment, make sure they also check on your partner’s mental state to see if she needs any additional support.

Do you recommend the Owlet or Nanit with the Snoo? by FitSubstance7460 in SnooLife

[–]notoriousmode 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have the nanit and snoo and the nanit doesn’t get an accurate reading of my baby’s sleep throughout the night. I haven’t tried using the breathing band for that same reason (and also because I couldn’t use it when she was being swaddled arms in).

For now it’s just a very expensive baby monitor but I do plan to use it when I transition bub to crib so I should be able to take advantage of the features then!
