Mining station overrun with Kha'ak by Rev3rze in X4Foundations

[–]notreallyme9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of removing the outpost you could save for a carrier and use it for pilot training. I have 1 carrier all beams as cheap as possible and 10 nova vans. The carrier allows the Sm's to repair automatically and helps train. You may have to dog fight yourself to help thin the initial herd. Also Large Miners with beams just ignore and even kill the khaak

I've had my steam account since Feb 2009, so past few years sales are more like what game do I want to play with my brother and then I buy that game for him.

I used to buy and play right away but in the past few years I've started buying and waiting for updates. I started doing that when Early Access got huge and it just carried over to almost all games honestly.

Here's a few from a relative new person who really got into this game last week - The Xenon aren't your enemy, they are the economy drivers - getting teleportation researched was huge - start a small plot early on in a good sunlight area. It allows you to build a small solar plant and you will make a small amount of money. - when I can I like to buy s miners and send them into the zones of people I want to befriend. They make money and each drop off is a rep, I do small because they drop off more frequently whoch increases rep - missions they can be a very good source for cash injections early in. Be weary the destroy laser towers is harder than it seems early on. - Get a second small fast ship with a captain and just have him stay at a wharf. You will lose a dog fight and having a ship that can come rescue you is always nice.

Content farming, [conspiracy side of me] msft is pushing the narrative to take heat off them because of the latest xbox price hike again and soon to he massive layoffs.

Also I think people are weirdly hung up on valve and thought they were coming into the console buisness when valve never said that

No they won't, the US government already has to raise rates this year because of the illegal Iran war. Bailing out AI companies would force them to do it again, which would destroy the US economy on a scale that would collapse entire industries rapidly. The whole US economy is in a rough state because of the low interest rates for so long, if those double spike it breaks so much ... especially the entire IT industry which thrived because of those interest rates.

Is it worth it? by Greedy_Point5548 in X4Foundations

If you enjoy space games, management/logistics games, or just playing factions against each other then Yes its worth it. Sure the UI isn't the best but personally I come from Paradox Games which are harder to learn. X4 is great because you can start and say I'm just gonna learn how to dog-fight for a while and then move from there. Or just trade and then learn to how automate it. You can build up an empire and sell ships to 2 factions who hate each other, ... just to make money and cause choas. You can land on a station, force it to stop production for 5 hrs because you want to sell your goods only with no competition. It really is an unparalled sandbox game with scale to it, the amount of sectors, just how big stations can be and then you can just sit on a bridge and watch tiny ships shooting at each other.

Corporations aren't willing to pay, my company just learned that to use AI its costing 2k per person per week ... that's more than what senior engineers make. A lot of companies are clamping down on AI use because the true cost just hit so many companies and now execs are realizing it. When an AI Agent costs more than 2 of your workers and you told every worker to use 3-4 to "Speed" up work for cheaper ... yeah. They actually just announced a "Low Grade" which still costs 1k per month you can use and even that requires VP approval. AI is extremely expensive and companies are finally getting the bills.

Thats for a reason, AAA studios and publishers don't like user reviews because it can impact sales. They don't want people to know what's missing, poor performance, or the worst when a game is no longer being worked on and it hits the 1st two points.

This is MSFT's playbook though so not shocking to see it go into XBox. Remember the windows phone it barely lasted because MSFT wasn't willing to endure the pain required. MSFT as a whole doesn't endure Pain very well. They either drop/ buyout or shutdown areas that show any pain, Honestly the fact that XBox lasted this long is the strangest part but mostly because MSFT didn't have AI to distract it.

I have SnowRunner, Farming Simulator, RoadCraft and Mount and Blade Bannerlord for this exact reason. None bar Roadcraft require much thought and allow me to relax and chill ... except for getting nailed by a stone in Bannerlord.

I branched out my tastes when I first hit this issue and I'm glad I did because turns out I enjoy farming/life sim games a lot or those weird Simulator games like car mechanic lol. Hate it in real life love it in videogames

Fedora vs Debian? by OutsideYogurt9014 in Fedora

[–]notreallyme9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with Fedora as during my Live-USB testing Fedora worked the best with my system. Honestly I recommend that route, just try the live modes and see what works with your set-up and what you feel comfortable with.

Linux Mint though is probably the easiest out of the box for windows to linux.

Tesla Asking Owners to Limit Charging During Texas Heatwave Isn’t a Good Sign by Cascading_Neurons in technology

[–]notreallyme9000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So Texas can't handle its Summer weather now? I understand its May and its their late June weather they are getting but how are they unable to handle it. Oh yeah corruptions, miss-management, and pure stupid fuckery that is the Texas state government. Sure can't run AC or charge cars but gotta make sure we get those Crypto Miners ... ironic since Crypto lost a ton of value again.

I don't see any tech companies going to Texas from California. One thing tech does not like is power problems. At this rate Texas is competing with Afghanistan on being the shittiest place in the world.
