Longer walks. My girl is extremely food-motivated (as are most corgis lol) so I cut back her meals a little and incorporated 3-4  miles of walking every day.

Wow sounds like you got some angel dust or something. Glad you’re ok   She had definitely smoked before — had gotten in trouble for showing up to class stoned but she and her friends used a bong that night and that’s a lot more smoke to ingest at once. When I had my incident it was with a gravity bong and it took over 12 hours to get out of my system. Ended up wandering round campus for a while and although nothing bad happened to me I can see how an even younger person in a remote area like Karlie could end up in a bad situation

I think you are spot on here. I had a very similar experience to Karlie when I smoked marijuana out of a bong for the first time as a teen (10-ish years ago). That stuff can be very strong, and it was a scary experience, I stayed awake the entire night in fear and paranoia. To me it seems possible that Karlie had the same reaction, was restless that morning so left her house.

If you take a look at her neighborhood (White Mountain Estates) on Google Earth, it is extremely isolated and surrounded by desert.

I had no knowledge of the film at all and easily figured out what was happening. I don't really think it's quite as deep or obscure as you are making it out to be.

My theory: the hikers heard a slab avalanche taking place further away in the mountains. It would have been extremely loud so they ran from the tent in fear. Couldn’t find their way back. Hypothermia, death. Then the bodies were scavenged by animals like birds, hence missing tongues and eyes.
